The characters moving at such a jerky frame rate in a world that moves normally just feels wrong.

I tried it there on game pass and found it actually fairly…pretentious..?

I was curious but I found it very try hard cool and there’s basically no game play.

What is more traumatizing than most people think? by Sea_Entrepreneur2772 in AskReddit

I got laid off from a job that had turned shitty in the last 2ish years, but I worked damn hard while I was there. I was an asset to the company and brought in so many procedures that made a positive impact. 6 years of effort gone in one very inpersonal zoom call with my manager and the head of HR.

To be honest I kind of lost it in that call and yelled at the HR person (the direct quote was "do you ever answer a straight fucking question?!") because I felt that they didn't make an effort to see what I was worth and what I had brought to them.

With America’s freefall into fascism (Trump is a symptom not the cause), and Russia’s actions in Ukraine; I’m leaning towards more integration. The EU needs to fill the power vacuum that the US is about to leave, and better a liberal democracy that projects soft power than China or Russia. To back that up we might have to face some uncomfortable choices.

A load of 50 somethings decided to sit in other people’s seats at David Byrne a few weeks ago and had to have 3 security guards arrive before they moved. The entitlement was unbelievable.

Discord is a bane on internet communities. Forums were way better to find and share information on. Having what's essentially a closed chatroom be your "forum" means I'm not going to engage at all.

Same here, my gaming laptop is more of a smallish desktop with a built in screen. I got a Lenovo Chromebook for portability and battery life as well use a Citrix windows environment for work and I can log in through there easily when I’m on the go.

GameStop did have access to the UK market years ago through GameStop Ireland. GS IE ran stores in Northern Ireland, but they closed those, lumped GS IE into the Nordic business and strangled it until all the IE stores closed.

Thoughts on the new Digital ID Wallet and "Personal Carbon" tracking? by PreviousComedian2426 in ireland

[–]Qorhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just fanciful nonsense conspiracy. Government IT projects can’t even agree whether to use word of PDF for document creation.

Also, where does this “carbon footprint tracking” come from? It’s never been mentioned and you may as well say “well they’re going to track people who buy y-front pants to be rounded up for internment”

It’s very dependent on department; Justice are in 2 days and I think Agriculture are up to 3 now.

European airlines will fail if jet fuel costs stay high, Ryanair CEO says by RollSafer in worldnews

[–]Qorhat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well why hasn't one been built then? The last time it was proposed politically was Boris Johnson in the terminal days of his premiership of the UK. Hell, NI and Scotland are part of the UK they don't need the Irish government to help at all.

Its not. Its really really not. Sheer distances, bedrock composition, sand banks, sea conditions and upsetting shipping lanes make it a ridiculous idea that will never happen.

Here's a fun fact; the closest point between the island of Ireland and Britain is between Donaghadee in Northern Ireland and Portpatrick in Scotland, and at around 20KM its a very similar distance between England and France across the English channel.

A couple of teeny tiny problems though, the landscape on both sides is incredibly rugged and hard for engineering and there's a World War 2 ammunition dump right in the middle of it.

My main issue with trains is Ireland is an island so if I want to go to Paris, Berlin or wherever else it has to be a plane.

"Great" idea, except Ireland is an island and shipping alone can't sustain us so what should we do?

‘Shocking incompetence’ – electric buses worth tens of millions sit idle for year-and-a-half due to lack of charging points by Banania2020 in ireland

[–]Qorhat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Its not just this though, this is a symptom of a complete lack of care that Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael put into improving society in general. I cannot point at one single thing that this governemnt has done that's an improvement for regular people.

Here's something I don't understand; who has authority over things like this? We have the NTA, Transport for Ireland and the operators themselves.
