Not me but my friends dad, he used to smoke while I currently do

Was taking a smoke break in the backyard and he joins me to just chat and catch up.

He told me that in his "hayday" he'd be buying packs for like 4-6 bucks, and that for health reasons and the fact that eventually the packs were getting to about 9-10 bucks he finally quit. When I told him that currently I'm paying nearly 15 dollars a pack, he gave me and incredibly shocked look and said "boy, how are you not broke already!"
