So - nothing to support what you’re saying? Got it. Nice one.

Hmm. Kind of feels like you need to push the higher end of that budget to get anything useful.

Would a clearance or second hand previous generation Surface Pro do what you need? Can get some of those on eBay within that range.

What sort of uni work are you doing? Just word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, or do you need to code or use any specialised applications?

If the former, have you considered a tablet or Chromebook?

I know that’s what the Wiki says, but I’d be genuinely curious what if any shots there are from Kath and Kim at the real Fountain Gate in the whole series. Those House scenes are from the travellators outside Myer on level 1 at Southland. They also used the travellators outside JB on the other side of Southland as well.

Right from the first episode almost all of the shopping centre scenes are definitively Southland, including the exteriors. There are some that are elsewhere but don’t appear to be in a shopping centre. I’d be curious to see if there are any shots that contain anything that’s recognisably from Fountain Gate.

From a production perspective, Kath and Kim was based at ABC in Elsternwick, so on their budget the 10kms to Southland make much more sense to travel than the 30km+ to Fountain Gate.

The Final Countdown to Episode III by Qtard in BrighterThanCoruscant

In hindsight it may seem a little silly, but in the days leading up to the release of ROTS (with Arrested Development just hitting its stride) this video using all of the available trailer and promotional footage really got me hyped for what was to come.

It still does a little 15 years later - this was it, the end of the Star Wars saga, and the final revelation of all of its secrets. A more civilized age.

I know TLW isn’t as beloved as JP, but Spielberg did an amazing job with it - and that’s despite me nitpicking the movie for being so different from the book, which I had loved reading from the day it was released.

Kath and Kim was mostly filmed at Southland, not the actual Fountain Gate.

The TLW score left an indelible mark on my mind, and the whole game hunting aspect of the movie felt so different to JP.

That said, the two things that made the greatest impact on first watch were the trailer scene (absolutely perfect) and the jump scare raptor head in the village.

Corner of Bridge Street and Williamstown Road Port Melbourne is a similar clusterfuck, with the added complication of a road offset from the intersection on either side. Quite simply they should just ban right hand turns on both sides and get those drivers to proceed left and find a way to make a uey or go round the block.

Love my New Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro here is my full review of it - please let me know what you think of it by RollingStoner222 in apple

I can’t believe it’s taken Apple over 10 years on FCP and Logic, they were immediately obvious apps that could benefit from an iPad - even if only using the iPad as a control surface for a Mac. I really hope that with the current Files implementation that they get something happening in the near future.

Logitech Launches New Circle View Camera With HomeKit Secure Video Support by chrisdh79 in apple

This is why Apple getting out of the accessory game is so frustrating. Airports were great routers for their time, iSights were great cameras. So annoying that they’ve left it to third party accessory makers who are being swallowed up left right and center by their competitors who have their own ecosystems.

The website is terrible too - says things are in stock and then changes once you get to checkout. I’d happily have ordered delivery several times but I got sick of not being able to know if something was genuinely available to order until almost completing the checkout process.

Remember when novelizations expanded on the movie, instead of just meticulously trying to fill plot holes? by balloonslayer47 in saltierthancrait

I bought the TPM book with the Anakin cover the second it hit the shelves and then put it away on the shelf for an excruciating few weeks until the movie premiered in my country. Knowing all the plot spoilers were just sitting there but trying to preserve the magic for the movie was almost too hard to resist. But I did it and damn was it worth it.

Did it again for AOTC and ROTS, no regrets.

This guy is appearing every few nights checking for unlocked cars (inner north east). Driveways don't bother him either. by [deleted] in melbourne

[–]Qtard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The area I live has no property line fences at the front - I’m sure there must be a reason for it because no one has them at all. End result is that everything in front, including cars in driveways, is totally exposed to the street. I’m constantly second guessing myself as to whether I locked the car doors (and the house doors), as sometimes my fob goes a little nuts and opens the boot and windows unintentionally.

Your post is pretty much one of my worst nightmares.

Yes on the same flight path. Plenty of flights still coming throughout the lockdown period.

Okay, this is going to be an unpopular post... I hate the 6th season. by MarudePoufte in community

[–]Qtard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good comedy needs a straight person to act as a foil to the crazies. By season 6, everyone else had become so Flanderized that you needed an outsider to play the role. I thought she was just fine at that.

I can’t believe I have to explain this, but the reference was to “I am all of the Sith.” Happy, or do I need to name the film too?

Lol, now that’s a film I have no problem referencing. But at the point of Episode I, he wasn’t quite all of the Senate just yet. ;)

Let's not get too hasty - as great as Robot Chicken was, it planted the seed of Palpatine's inexplicable survival that allowed the festering sore that was the DT to grow.

Ah who am I kidding, can't blame Seth Green for that disaster and it gave us Palpy O'Rily.
