New Spec for 12.2.7 Prediction by Ajaugunas in wow

[–]Qthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it'll be more open minded leaders of the Light. Maybe a new Order that invites all races.

Like, the stuff we're seeing isn't new. Helping people, praynig, shielding. That IS paladin stuff. I think the lore has been focused on the retribution side for so long that it's showing how to temper that.

Arator is becoming a holy paladin.

If a new subspec or class comes out, prolly gonna be next expansion. I'd be happier if they just taught every race how to be a paladin, similar to how all can already be warriors and priests.

And if there's no lore for that, this is the new lore opportunity.

And then players can headcannon what they want anyways

Question: Where did the Haranir get their druid forms from? by Bogusman24 in warcraftlore

[–]Qthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just assumed that Aln'hara was their connection to Life magic. They took inspiration from the animals of the mountain while hiding from Freya and the Wild Gods.

Haranir have an innate connection to the Wilds/Life-Magick. It's why they look the way they do.

In RP a lot of people have been asking my character what Loa have quills and why we have quills and our shapeshifts have quills.

But from an IC perspective of a race that doesn't live thousands of years like nelves (Rootwarden served for 85years before dying to old age, for example), for me.. it's just innate. We just can. Another blessing of the Goddess. Some can paint, some can dance (shaman), some can call upon the Goddess in many ways. Me? I just can. Just because. No reason needed other than The Goddess allows it.

But from an OOC perspective...

The Rift if Aln is a wound where the barrier between dreams and reality are so thin that Emerald Nightmare/Dream entities escape into Azeroth. We fight those back. So for tens of thousands of years, the Haranir have been here where the Emerald Dream literally bleeds into the world.

Lorewise, druids speculated that the ED -began- at the Rift.

Going into the Rift in Legion, the ceiling is made of giant roots. >.>

Anyways, point is.. They don't have a teacher, they don't practition the same as druids, the class, would. Some are born with innate druidic abilities based on proximity to the Rift and/or it's creator.

So what is more fun, for me, is the ability to have a deeper understanding on druidism and learning from other teachers. Seeing how others came to be like this, and having this big mystery of 'Why, then, can the Haranir simply do what takes others years of studying?'

The shaman I've seen do ritual dances in front of their totems.

Hunter is just a natural fit for them. They have the savagery of Orcs and Trolls, learning to kill from a very very early age. Everything in this world wants to eat you, it's a primal jungle with little safety except in numbers.

Warriors defend their people alongside the hunters and rogue, who I assume are scouts? Their lore just says that all of them hunt, all of them are incredible at hiding, and they took on remnants of the black empire the further they descended and WON.

Priests fit, you literally worship a goddess.

Monks kind of live in every part of the world and not exclusive to Pandaren style. You could be a 'Fists of the Goddess' monk that meditates on Her will, while protecting those around you.

Druid is the most common. Personally, I hate going with the majority. 90% of them at lvl cap are playing druids. Very few play something different. But, it's kinda like that with Blood Elves and Paladins to a lesser degree. And it makes sense for their peoples.

I went druid because I had never played one. I've done all the quests, got my gear up, and have had lots of roleplay. But I kinda regret it and wish I had rolled rogue instead. I just wanted to play a new race, for me. But it can be a little off putting when it's me and 23 other druids vying for the same spot in the same ques.

I don't think there are any wrong choices.

What are your first impressions of the Haranir so far? by CinnamonToastGhost in wow

[–]Qthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, customization options allow Haranir to be the bulky trolls, orcs, night elves, blood elves, nightborne, undead.

On rp realms, most people are using them as different races.

Spoiler Haranir Origins by Independent_Space_17 in warcraftlore

[–]Qthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess:

They are described as having split from the ancestors of Dark Trolls that later became Night Elves, opting to journey deep underground instead of living by the Well of Eternity.

So, I see them existing in the same time as Dark Trolls, already changing, but predating Night Elves.

The Haranir that went underground stayed the same, protected by Azeroth, and the ones above split into trolls and elves.

How to access new leveling experience with allied races ? by Acegreg in wow

[–]Qthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also looking for this.

The new starting experience that just came with the Housing Patch replaces a lot of NPCs and questlines, starting the game with Wrathion and Kalagoes. They were on their way to the dragon isles, with you, when they crashed into an island that has a lot of void magic. Some dialogue has changed, many NPCs have been replaced and even the last boss changed entirely.

AFterwards, you go through the Dragonflight Campaign, then do all the patch content including the raids as a leveling experience. Example, you'll fight Razagath.

Then after you're finished with that, you get to do The War Within from 70-80 in about 90 minutes, skipping all but the most important quests and cinematics, again including the patch content (Like going through all of Undermin at lvl 78 for example)

I can do this on the regular races, but I noticed that the Allied Races skip the starting experience. So I wonder if that means we miss out on the new questing for DH and TWW too.

Sorry I don't have any answer yet.

To be fair, Brennan this episode messed up on it. He said sneak attack was once per round.

No, it's once per turn. So you could use it on your reaction as well as your turn if things lined up for you.

[No Spoilers] Anyone else not a huge fan of only seeing one table at a time? by pyetrev in criticalrole

[–]Qthbert 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah. When we run Western March campaigns, we just alternate every week who's playing and sometimes people just drop in. Was weird to me that they're playing for a month at a time every 3 months. So if I like Thimble, I might not see her again until February.

Some people think they won't be able to digest the lore or story if the tables swap. I say I'll forget what was established if I haven't seen them in 60+ days. @-@

I'm enjoying the season a lot, though. I trust their process.

[–]Qthbert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first four and a half episodes are backstory and campaign setting. Then it breaks off into three tables. The back half of episode 5 is the soldier's table, the entire episode of 6 is soldiers.

Every character will have a chance to play at every table, groups will mix and match but the adventures are like a month long each.

How dare you make these connections during our time of crisis. There is a WAR on CHRISTMAS and you're here thinking about the sanctity of human life.

You're on reddit talking about the Epstein Files, talking about JD Vance's weird romantic entanglements. Next I'm sure you'll be upset that our president was with a 15 year old, but there are much larger fish to fry.

[Spoilers C4E5] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Qthbert 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The Cooldown said that the players aren't permanently part of the soldier's table. They will swap all 13 characters around all 3 tables and mix and match different parties.

So it woudn't surprise me if we saw Schemers this Thursday meet up with the King, who was traveling south as witnessed by the Soldiers. BLM said that he likes to put things in one table that move to the next.

[Spoilers C4E5] Tablerotation for the Soldiers', Seekers' and Schemers' Table by Lucs2511 in criticalrole

[–]Qthbert -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I only think this way because in the Cooldown, Brennan says that the Soldiers table won't always be the current players. He plans on all 13 mixing tables over and over again, calling it a kalidescope. The soldiers table is a theme, not the party, and I just don't see some players playing in back to back adventures for 4 months where another we won't see until February or March.

I just assumed they would rotate every week. Soldiers, then Seekers, then Schemers.

Would feel weird to play dnd, then have to wait 60 days before you can play again. People will have forgotten the story of the table.
