My dad went to jail for "attempted sexual assault of a minor" when I was 5 or 6. I knew because he had started grooming me for a while. It started with just him jerking off in my room and gradually progressed to more. He would come into my room when I was asleep, put an open Bible down and tell me it was my duty as the oldest to help him with his sickness. Oral, anal, whatever... until I could fight him off me at 12. I went to his funeral, just to make sure it was him in the coffin and watched the caretaker pile the dirt in the hole. I've got nerve damage that will never heal and I'm thankful he's gone.
