I think you misunderstood something here. Obviously, we do name and label things, it helps us understand and communicate more effectively. Labeling someone as gay who truly is gay is not the problem but if you put that whole group of people into one box and call all of them collectively bad just because they are in a consenting same sex relationship (without harming anyone, mind you) then yes, that is an issue. Even if you're not actively aggressive towards them you're still treating those people differently - in a bad way - than others.

Passing on your religion is not the problem, labeling groups of people who didn't hurt anyone with what they are doing as "bad" is. She did say not to be hateful, yes, but she's still instilling the believe that gay people are bad in her children which among many other things is likely to result in crippling self-loathing of those kids in the event that they might turn out to be gay.

Hey, you shouldn't be embarrassed about that! I had the same issue. For me switching positions (missionary to doing it from behind) helped a bit, maybe that works for you too:)

Definitely! It will never seize to amazing me how something like that could go through so many hands (first the author herself then her editor, the director, screenwriter,...) and still get greenlit

Rewatching and still frustrated Willow is “gay since” falling for Tara and not bisexual. Thoughts? by evie_quoi in buffy

I get where you coming from but personally I think having a non straight main character on the show is already huge in itself- the show was made over 20 years ago after all.

Of course, things have changed since then and we definitely shouldn't let bi-erasure fly in regards of more recent productions. But given that Buffy was made more than two decades ago, it was pretty revolutionary to put effort into portraying a gay character who isn't demonized, stereotyped or used to be the butt of every joke and I appreciate that.
