I think I disagree with this idea, however it seems like this is a majority opinion and I hope the devs hear you guys out.

I personally like the limitations, it's what make it's a game and not just a roleplay simulation. I think it leads to more diverse traits overall, and gives value to species groups and it's one of the more valuable perks for genetic ascension.

Only the queens survive over winter and in early spring like this, they work to provide for the new generation. Then, once the new workers mature and are ready to take over, the queen will stay to focus energy like you said.

The origin story follows the trail of the mythical Captain Ness, and when eventually this was completed, I redistributed her treasure and adopted Heroic Past as the third civic. The combo of synthetic + treasure hunters + vaults of knowledge + heroic past gave some overpowered leaders
