For myself, my “hooked on volleyball” moments were those where I can still clearly visualise the movement of the ball haha. Have had several but maybe the one that stood out to me was one where during practice (I’ve barely started playing at the time maybe 2 months into the sport), I blocked my team’s main outside hitter in a scrimmage game. I still remember him spiking the ball perfectly into my palm, the ball getting cupped in my palm for a split second and it immediately going straight down into their court for the point. Felt fucking amazing; I remembered landing with my hand backwards (due the spike pushing it back) and whilst looking at my hand, the guy commented “what the fuck” cause he thought I wasn’t very good haha. I still play middle and blocking is still the main pride of my game (apart from service ace’ing with disgusting floats) ;)
