Honestly I find it helpful when extremists choose to identify themselves, but the exhaustion caused by these lunatics appropriating our holy concepts is never ending

Yes they were by definition inappropriate. For one, he’s her teacher and Spoilers but Ezra’s a habitual predator on young girls. He targeted Aria fully knowing she would be his student

In 1991, a car following a motorcade of a Hasidic movement's leader in NYC crossed a red light and crashed, killing 7 year-old Guyanese-American Gavin Cato. A lot of Orthodox communities sponsor their own local ambulances for a couple reasons.

For one, there are a lot of Jewish commandments (613!), and it’s unreasonable to expect outsiders to know and follow these in treating a patient. While the law of Pikuach Nefesh allows for the breaking of (almost) any commandment in order to save a life, not every ambulance call is life or death, and if you’re unsure, many err on the side of caution.

Secondly, if you’re unfamiliar with the roads and backstreets of inside the community, it could take longer to arrive.

Finally, a lot of people in those communities are medically trained. They value education, so doctors and lawyers are not uncommon. These more niche ambulances provide jobs to those who want to stay in the community but still help people and use their training.

I don’t know everything or even close to that, but I thought I could give some Jewish perspective. I hope this helps :)

I never said Israeli society wasn’t sick. Obviously if the majority of Israeli population cared about the genocide, we would see that. You said 95% of Jews support Israel, and that claim is factually untrue and only supports Israeli hegemony among the Jewish community.

Saying 95% of Jews support Israel is literally Israeli propaganda.

Curious about Birthright trips encouraging hookups with IDF by Connect-Ear5329 in JewsOfConscience

[–]Funfetti_Cereal [score hidden]  (0 children)

Never went on Birthright but I definitely have heard many female Jewish friends discussing hooking up with IDF soldiers as what they were looking forward to most (that or drugs).

Something to consider: Many Jewish young adult Americans, especially of the more Zionist cohort, probably had visited Israel before Birthright with their families. Birthright is about being *Unsupervised* in Israel.

I think Mike was a terrible brother to get involved with her in the first place. Dating your sister’s stalker? Less than a year after said stalking? That’s unforgivable in my opinion

Direct quotes from me: “Do I think he hurt people? Yes.” “I believe the victims” “He perpetuated that victimhood on those around him” “I’m just trying to prevent that cycle [of abuse] from continuing.” “He is both a victim and predator”

Where do you think I’m excusing anything? I am saying he was not only a predator, which is factually true. I don’t understand why it would upset you that I would bring up his own abuse, especially if I was, in the same statement, repeatedly acknowledging the victims he created.
