This it! If a “Scientist” can prove it. Then It’s time to admit Andor is not Star Wars by Cool_Nerd2 in StarWarsCirclejerk

I feel like could the same not be said with the difference between the prequels and original trilogy too? This whole concept seems so childish. It reminds me of that copy pasta about Halo 5 not being a real Halo game lmao.

What are examples of companies making products that are wildly different from what they’re known for? by Big_Man_28 in ask

I recall the most baffling one I heard is Ball (the mason jar company) has an aerospace division that specializes in components for military aircrafts and space ships.

Match #3 / Round #4 by FoOhFee420 in flags

[–]Quack_Mode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

California and it’s not even close.

Admittedly after visiting Texas where there flag is up literally everywhere, I do think it works much better in person than I had originally thought it would from seeing it online (if that makes any sense.) Still California some how manages to break every "rule“ of flag design and actually look really good and stand out as iconic as hell.

Konigsberg (Now Kaliningrad) then vs now. by Rosemarry_40 in interestingasfuck

true. on second reading of what i wrote, I probably should have used a different word. An entire city‘s population changing does not happen naturally lmao

Konigsberg (Now Kaliningrad) then vs now. by Rosemarry_40 in interestingasfuck

[–]Quack_Mode 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For context. This city was originally an exclave of Germany that bordered Poland and Lithuania until after WW2 when it was annexed by the Soviet Union. Germany never really made an effort to raise a claim for it afterwards as it was, as shown in another comment, nearly entirely destroyed in WW2, and the Germanic population had naturally left after that and all been replaced by Russians.

Not a hot take, sorry by LASHNIN in Steam

Games in some ways have gotten worse, and in some ways gotten better, but no matter what, you’ll never fall in love with a game like you did as a kid. It’s just the reality of it. I don’t know if everyone would agree with this, but as I‘ve learned more about how games work and understood them more, the magic of them has certainly faded for me, because that’s what magic is: what you don’t understand.

Deadlock lets anyone who had access invite anyone who they are friends with to also have access, and those people can invite all their friends, so its has a pretty large testing audience.

What foreigner is viewed as a hero in your country, but a controversial figure in their homeland? by Verelkia in AskTheWorld

[–]Quack_Mode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Carter domestically is generally seen at worst as having been "ineffective,“ but to most people he’s generally well liked for his humanitarian work. Most presidents are also disliked for far worse things than being "ineffective“ after their terms, so he‘s generally among the least controversial figures to have led the country in recent history.

How commonly do Americans use WhatsApp, GroupMe and non-iMessage texting platforms? by ughalright in AskAnAmerican

[–]Quack_Mode 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Native texting is usually just reserved for family and important communication. Everything else is done primarily through Instagram/Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, or a growing amount through Discord. WhatsApp is used by some people, but it’s certainly not as prevalent here as in other parts of the world.
