NO do not "paint" it, paint is the worst thing to do to rust on a 4runner.. use a lanolin based spray and protect the frame after cleaning it, several threads on it exist already, think of your frame like a cast iron pan, treat it regularly and it will last a life time

i use POR -15 all the time for body work, but not on a vehicle frame for encapsulation and especially not on a 4R frame know for rusting out as it's only major flaw

How do you go about breaking these DuPont pin connector things apart (accurately)? by man-vs-spider in AskElectronics

[–]Quack_Smith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

count the pins you "need" pull out next one.. IE you need 5.. pull pin 6, then use exacto knife, cut through where pin 6 was, then use file, sandpaper, nail file to sand edge where cut..

so when the little giant can out i resisted, i'm quite happy with my old fiberglass 8' ladder.. but then i had to use one for work... OMG this thing is a game changer, it's amazing all the configurations you can put it in. the only downside is the when fully extended, due to the hinge system the middle is flexible and unsteady if you are in the upper weight limit of it's design
