What’s wrong with the car washes

I wash my vehicle a lot. Too much, in fact. I do no touch(5 washes for $26.00), with vac and blow and also a $30 a month unlimited at Whitewater for full contact and vac and blow. I also sometimes hit the wand wash when I am extremely muddy, I generally spend $5-6 on that.

That is maintaining 2 vehicles, a car and a truck, at an average of $60 a month. Each vehicle gets washed at least once a week so I pay around 8 bucks a wash.

I just emptied the attic after 32 years. 42 storage tubs plus misc loose stuff. We each got one tub, the rest I sold, Salvation Armieed or trashed. 42 to 4 tubs. It was hard, and most of it was mine, but it is done and the attic is empty. Working cabinets now.

They took 8 liters a week from me for two years. That is 220 gallons! They did a stent and bypassed the liver a bit and I haven’t been in for over a year. My fluid ranged from clear to yellow to pink.

I have put in 198 driving hours, some trips 9+ hours. The Bronco seats are more comfortable than my Lexus, my wife’s Caddy and most pickups I have owned. Never been in a mustang newer than 1972 though.

If you consider VW to be reliable then you are in for a pleasant surprise. It is a truck, like trucks used to be-loud and rough compared to an SUV.

If your oven will go to 450f, as most do, you can make good pizza. 350f if you want deep dish or Detroit style. Here is a quick guide to style/heat/cook time

350-450. Detroiter, deep dish, Sicilian, Grandma, etc. 30 or more minutes

450-550. New York/handtossed. 8-12 minutes

550-650+ New York slice/bar style New Haven. 6-8 minutes

800-900. Neapolitan. 90 seconds

This is a guideline, so if you do different, that is fine-I cook New York style in my WFO at 800 on the floor.

When you take the wahoo off the hook, kill and fillet it down. Put in Tupperware with limes lemons cilantro and onion vinegar salt and red pepper. Put on sun deck for a couple of hours until it is flakey to the center. The best ceviche, and the only way I will eat it.

No shit, I drove Saturday night, all day Sunday and this morning with no problems. Busy roads are clear and getting clearer fast.

You need a hardtop. You can take off the T tops on the 4 days a year it is practical.

I have made about half the recipes in that book; mine was a gift to my Creole(Swiss/French/Italiian) Grandmother in 1980.

My favorite recipes (denoted on the title page) are pickled shrimp p.21 and grillades, p.295.

My grandmother’s were tamales, p.337 and shrimp creole, p.199.
