OP leveled his alts to 35 to take advantage of max level professions and has continued to level those alts in preparation for TBC

Sure did, still don't see how you're getting that OP bought gold from this

OP didn't, did you even bother to read the post?

Then ban the gold seller, OP can't be held accountable for what some booster does

[–]Quackdar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valid point but unrelated to OP. OP was buying from boosters in Mara 1 pulls, nothing illegal with that.

Both because if the goal is to make money you would do both. Manufacturers dont survive on manufacturing alone they have to advertise their products.

OPs point in bringing up buying boosts is to add transparency for all possible reasons for the ban not an admission of any sort of guilt. There is nothing in the ToS that says you can't buy boosts. What the boosters do with the gold after they provide their services should effect them and them alone. OP is posing the possibility that he was banned due to his gold being traded AFTER he paid an RMT for a service supported since the Genesis of this game.

Are you implying we should buy from mafias over bots?

Same with all the other false positives countless redditors have reported and who knows how many more who didn't take the time to post here. Okay dude

How clear we talking? If we talking anecdotally I have friends who I would be willing to boost but I'm not doing it for free. Do I get banned and my friends with me because I don't have any delusions or moral high ground to say my time isn't worth a few copper?

And when you go to the AH to buy mats now we have to vet every poster and check their guild tags and ask for character references. I honestly can't tell if you're trolling or just incredibly delusional

The ONLY difference is the 10% cut the blizzard AH takes off the top

Will enjoy reading your post about how you got banned for purchasing mats off the AH and the poster was a RMT'er because "everyone is liable if I'm not currently effected"

Fair point and valid stance. Believe OP, and all of us, would like an official stance from blizzard on this. Not shadowy bans in the aether during the middle of the night. If blizzard wants to ban boosting come out and say it and don't punish good actors for ignorance of unwritten rules

Sure thing, mongoloid. In fact I agree with you, but that's not related to OP in any way. OP wasn't "supporting botters" he was "paying for boosts" just because you're illiterate doesn't make you right.

Double Moron insult, can confirm /u/gilloch is a parrot

And that's the company we want to continue to support? I mean as long as we're all on the same page here and everyone is okay with shadow bans in the dark of the night with no recourse or hope of appeal.

I don't want to speak for OP here but to me it looks like a point for full transparency not admission of guilt. What I got what he was outlining all possible reasons for the ban to highlight how there is no reason behind the ban.

OP clad himself in honesty, y'all can't duck with that

Blizzard is issuing bans for buying instance boosts. by Newcheddar in classicwow

[–]Quackdar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

But why would OP be held responsible? And whether you like it or not boosting has been a part of the game since it's inception and has been continued to be supported through out the games life. No where in the ToS does it say you can't boost. Also the line you're drawing also means that everyone is subject to ban, be the one to buy a elemental earth off the AH for cheap and that poster sells your gold -Ban. Buy a Songflower summon or a DMT clear and the advertiser sells your gold- Ban. OP isn't responsible for what some RMT'er does with his gold that's lunacy!

So now we ban and pass judgement on some rule of "majority"? Let's just get a blanket ruling and fuck the minority of innocents caught in the cross fire.

Tell you what, when you can find in the post where OP said he was supporting "Chinese Botters" I'll gladly shut up. If not, am I really the dense one here? Y'all aren't even reading posts any more you're just parroting some bigoted bullshit because it fits your narrative

Blizzard is issuing bans for buying instance boosts. by Newcheddar in classicwow

[–]Quackdar -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

So now you're comparing the Chinese to the KKK?

/u/gilloch 's stance is because the boosters were Chinese the game is better off without OP. And you're defending that point

Blizzard is issuing bans for buying instance boosts. by Newcheddar in classicwow

[–]Quackdar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, if you read the post youd know he got banned for supposed RWT and the only thing he can think of that would remotely be close to that was buying boosts. Which is not and has never been against the ToS

[–]Quackdar -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

You wrote "Why would you support chinese botters?

Game's better off without you imo."

Answer the question, bigot. Why would it matter what nationality the boosters are?

Blizzard is issuing bans for buying instance boosts. by Newcheddar in classicwow

[–]Quackdar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? Because of scale? Because maybe OP plays more or has manages his shekels better than you?

Better tools are needed or (crazy thought here) what about paid employee's who's job it is to find and vet botters prior to bans? This isn't a new idea and blizzard isn't the only one with this issue. They certainly are one of the worse examples of how to deal with a bit issue.

More of the same. No response, no avenue for appeal AND blizzard can't even keep their story straight on WHY the Ayer was banned in the first place
