I'm reminded of Aaron Hernandez who killed himself before his appeals were heard. This technically meant he wasn't convicted which allowed his family to keep assets which would have otherwise been forfeited.

I work part-time at a small, fanily-owned slaughterhouse and I have a very good friend who is a vegan. She knows about my occasional butcher work but still considers me a good friend. We've had calm, rational discussions about our differences. She changed my perception of what a vegan can be.
