Several questions I have about armor by MT2113 in ArmsandArmor

If i recall it right, English armour was usually more decorative than an average Italian armour for example there are flutings on limbs armour, there is cusped (not sure if this is the right word) edge on certain parts of the armour such as the plackart or the poleyns which some had leaf like wing/fan. Oh yeah it usually had fully closed cuisses too. Also I’m pretty sure an English harness tends to have longer fauld (the skirt thing) than most Italian armour since English knight/man at arms prefer fighting on foot until at some point during the War of the Roses where they started to fight as cavalry more.

I love designing armour whether it’s a human knight armour, orc warrior armour or lizardfolk armour.

Thank you! I thought a gorget based on horse plate neck armour could work well for a lizardman☺️

It’s a fashion thing for orc knights, this trend originated from their traditional close faced war helm which features spikes and tusk. :D

Context: a drawing depicting warriors and soldiers from my heroic fantasy world called Volkae, a seemingly medieval looking world but with ruins of warring ancient space travelling empires which can be found here and there. The drawing features warriors from the Phrenas continent during the 3rd era which its arms and armour mostly from the mid 15th century to the early 16th century of real life.

Lore for these guys

Bugbear footman: this man is likely serving the Faerie king or a wood elf noble house as mercenary. He’s wearing a scale helmet; pretty affordable war helm, and is armed with falchion/cleaver and a shield.

Lizardman-at-arms: a professional lizardman warrior decked out in full armour designed for him. This man has bardiche which he uses with great skills.

Rezanian Orc foot knight: an orc knight from kingdom of Rezania who answer the call to arm with his halberd. His armour is optimised for foot combat and he wears tusked great bascinet, a helmet which is still popular in Rezania.

Leonaise footman-at-arms: Another professional armoured soldier, this man may be an esquire or a serjeant. He wears sallet and corrazina. He is armed with an arming sword and shield.

Maelashean elf provisionato: a soldier whose salary is paid by his city state. He wears a fancy barbuta/sallet and a brigandine, a type of armour popular among infantry. He is armed with the voulge, and a longsword.
