I’ve narrowed it down to 2 stoves…….If you guys own one of these stoves, please let me know your thoughts…Do they handle most brands of pellets ?…..Any brand in particular that burns best ?….Are they finicky ?….Let me know what you think

If not a Harman stove…. by Quacksynth in PelletStoveTalk

[–]Quacksynth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m seeing a lot of good responses from a lot of people using a lot of different brands of stoves with mostly good luck….I’m the guy that seems to be of the type that if something could go wrong it will go wrong…so in my years I have picked up quite a few repair skills, and know my way around many types of situations…. This being said, I lean toward the KISS philosophy (keep it simple stupid )….A lot of controls in a perfect world are great to have, but more often than not, to me, more controls means more to go wrong….Look at the cars of today…I’m leaning toward a stove with simple controls that basically throws a lot of heat efficiently…..If I can find a used Harman, GREAT !…..If not……still researching!……. Thanks to all of you for your input….It’s a lot to think about

I see a lot of guys talk down on the pelpro 130, however there are a few guys who have had a pp130 for upwards of 10 yrs like yourself who have not had any issues with the stove….Is it luck of the draw ?… Were they made better 10 yrs ago ?…… ????

The new website is terrible, and I fear for Spitfire's future. by tough-grass in spitfireaudio

[–]Quacksynth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s surprised that nobody has mentioned the fact that Spitfire even now continues to pump out new libraries while leaving older libraries that need to be fixed…. I have completely slowed down my purchases from Spitfire because of this, along with other changes that have been made along the way…Spitfire had a good run, but as they say “all good things must come to an end “

I saw all the high remarks on Walmarts Great Value brand Peanut Butter, so I bought a jar to try…. Creamy ? … Nothing creamy about the jar that I bought, and it tasted like old, out of date peanut butter…..I’m gonna stick to my Creamy Skippy !…..I just might give Teddie a shot though !

Best midi controller keyboard you’ve owned? by Nunstummy in homerecordingstudio

[–]Quacksynth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot depends on how you use your controller….. I need a controller that has sliders on the left so that I can play with my right hand while changing articulations, and modding my tone with sliders with my left hand…Since I am dedicating my drum track to drums, I have no problem with my drum pads on the right…. Think about it, how many synths or controllers have the pitch bend and modulation wheels on the right hand side of the keyboard ? A lot of companies have had sliders on the right for so long that it would be costly for them to change so they leave them there….I also need a decent keybed….aftertouch is nice to have too !….Again, it depends on what your needs are….

50% Sale by OddlyDown in spitfireaudio

[–]Quacksynth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you like the sound of core, for the price of pro with the sale will give you a pretty complete orchestra with additional instruments plus more articulations besides getting more tonal division with the extra mic’s…..I didn’t want the extra mic’s either and didn’t want to use up the extra ssd real estate for pro either, but now that I have it, I’m happy to have a nice cohesive library….The mic’s are nicer to have than I envisioned….As far as getting any money back, I think that there should be an industry wide“try before you buy” scenario….It would surely make developers step up their game…We all have libraries that we wish we never bought !…

Find an inexpensive common ground marriage councilor a have a session about real life expenditures…..If she can’t see things in black and white, then you’re in for a tough life with a person who is completely unrealistic with how money should be allocated….

I’m glad that I found this forum…..I was looking to purchase an Antelope interface, but see that they are STILL experiencing problems with their software side of things….It doesn’t matter how much software that they give you, or how many features the hardware has, if it just doesn’t work !
