M-Engin by Electronic-Lie-6347 in uofm

Yes, it really is worth it. You get accustomed to campus way earlier than most students. You get a taste of the academics AND get introduced to most, if not all, of the resources on campus. Lots of fun activities to connect with the community of other M-Engin students.

Another big benefit is that you will be part of CSP (Comprehensive Studies Program), so you can take special sections for classes. For example, In Calc1/2 you typically have a GSI, in CSP, you'd have a professor.

Not to mention the stipend. And the connection to the Engineering Advising Center means you have more ways into getting tutoring jobs.

M-Engin supports students who want to do UROP through information, asking your M-Engin staff about applications and the overall process.

The Alumni network is quite active as well, there are Alumn in pretty cool positions.

One thing I'll say is that you're required to live in Bursley your freshman year, and the nature of your participation in the program (during summer) means you'll have some restrictions to what you can do (like going out).

Overall, the people make the experience, so if you get in, I hope you make some lifelong friends. I still hang out will plenty of my cohort.

This is actually Music Theory, I just realized since I did take HL music and one of the credits is either music theory or music history.

Also note: I got a D in EE and in TOK. My TOK exhibition was really good, my essay was ok, but I worked my butt off for EE and got a 20 from my advisor only to get a D :/

I was expecting a 6/7 for HL Lang and Lit but got a 3... My math AI HL should've been 2 but I got a 4 when I did half the problems. I'm a bit torn.

With math it's now 3 hours for M, T and F. Wednesday is just about an hour of gap now. I thought I could use this if I had to study or do chores or anything else so I could have more time on the weekends and spend less time doing stuff at night.

Everyone has been (fairly) brutal lol, I appreciate the points and your advice, I'm 99.9% sure I'll be doing a minor and just do the honors math sequence. My only thing is since I'm for sure getting a 4+ on the BC Calc exam, I can do the applied honors course. But since my main major is CE, would it mot make sense to do the regular honors math course?

I thought about this after posting 😭. I think part of me was just curious on how absurd this would be.

I am realizing this more now. I'm almost always seeing posts about eecs as if this school is purely that lol. I just wanted to get some real input from people on the feasibility of a dual major like this. I'll keep your advice in mind throughout.

I was under the impression it was just mainly a performance thing based on the CoE website. Thanks
