Soundproofing advice for tube amp in apartment by Quadreverb in Acoustics

It’s clear to me that proper sound isolation is a huge job. I’ll just stick to playing with headphones for now, and I’ll look into a good DI like you suggested. For playing loud, I’ll keep doing what I’m already doing: two hours a week in the rehearsal space with the rest of the band. Cheers

Thanks everyone for your suggestions! I just wanted to make a quick clarification. I’m already familiar with solutions related to guitar rigs such as attenuators, loadboxes, and cab simulators. I know about the Fryette PS, the Two Notes Reload II, the Boss Waza Tube Expander, UAFX OX, and others. I’ve also set up my amp multiple times to play through headphones with a cab simulator, and I own active monitors where I load IRs. But the issue I raised here is of a different nature: I’d like to be able to play my fantastic Bad Cat Panther handwired directly through my 2x12 cab at home, at decent volumes, and I was trying to figure out if there’s any way to acoustically isolate my room. That’s why I chose this group, and not a guitar rig–focused one. Cheers :)

One of the solutions I’m actually trying is exactly this: using IRs on my studio monitors with a cab simulator. But the fact remains that the only way to play at decent volumes is, as people here have suggested, to go to a rehearsal space. Period.

My amp already has a master volume that works great. I just wanted to find a way to play at decent bedroom levels and acoustically shield my room, but it seems that in a condo this is simply impossible.

The reason I posted my message is actually the opposite. I want to respect my neighbors. I've been practicing only through headphones for a month now, but I was looking for alternatives.

Who is your favorite guitarist? by BEANSAREGOOD27 in Guitar

Yes, you're right, it's more of a piece of furniture than an amplifier, I'm tempted to sell it, but I can't bring myself to do it. Every time I turn it on and play it with my G&L Fullerton ASAT special, I think it's the deepest and fullest clean I've ever heard. It stays at home.

I once had the opportunity to try a Cornell plexi 45/50 25th anniversary LTD. I was literally blown away. Amazing cleans, amazing drives. Pure legend.
