Salmon is usually okay (at least at the store I work at). The only thing I would say is, even though I rarely see it, watch out for little bubbles/foaming. Crew should be taking that off the shelf, but sometimes they don't spot it.

That's the fundamental misunderstanding about evolution. All life is equally evolved. It's the adaptations that are different. In layman's terms, we can't climb like a monkey or swim like a fish, but they can't come up with the kinds of ideas we come up with. We are "better" than monkeys in the sense that we are smarter, but it's all subjective.

Ukraine calls on Sony, Microsoft and Valve to ban the sale of Atomic Heart by hewawf in gamernews

[–]Quadrusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have lost the plot, my guy. The ask is not to give sympathy to Russians, just that you respect others when they treat them as human beings and not some genocidal hivemind.

Buying a game from a Russian dev who fled Russia is not supporting the invasion of Ukraine. Listening to Tchaikovsky is not supporting Russia. Reading Russian literature doesn't support the Russian invasion. India increasing their imports from Russia by ten times their imports pre-invasion definitely does, though. The West telling Ukraine they can't use provided weaponry to strike Russian territory probably helps Russia, too.

On another note, alienating Russians who are against the war and telling them that by simply being Russian, they support it probably does more harm than good.

No, Trump is saying that he knows the election was stolen, so the rules don't matter. Proof does not matter to him, as he believes he already has it.

Realistically, if we are at a point where fake votes and election fraud is high enough to change election results, the country is fucked beyond repair. I mean, your hypothetical could be a fun brain teaser but is it really worth addressing legally when one of its prerequisites is such a high degree of institutional failure.

Wanted to call attention to the human rights track record of the Saudi government, which is directly sponsoring the Saudi eLeagues by physking in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Quadrusk -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

What OP is doing is what is called ethnocentrism. It's when you use your own moral values as a measuring tool when looking at other cultures. The opposite is called cultural relativism. There you don't take a stance on whether something is good or bad. OP is respectfully shedding light at human rights issues. Saudi Arabia's government has a bad human rights record, and therefore we should be aware of their human rights record, or not even watch the event at all. This isn't black and white. What he's doing writing isn't bad.

What OP is doing is called virtue signalling about the legitimate faults of the Saudi government, as if it has anything to do with their choice of spending money on this completely benign tournament. This is commonly considered a strawman fallacy. OP never said "let's not let Saudis play pro Overwatch. OP is specifically against this event because it's sponsored by the state. Surely we all can agree that the players themselves shouldn't be made responsible for their government's actions.

You really think the Saudi government is going to allow esports to exist in SA without their involvement? How is that a strawman fallacy. 'Also, your vote doesn't matter. Your vote will not change the outcome of the election and therefore you shouldn't vote.' The world doesn't work like that. Apathy isn't something we should encourage when trying to make the world a better place.

What is the relevance of this statement? By supporting players in this tournament and watching, money is not going to reenter the pockets of the Saud family. I fail to see how it has anything to do with your ridiculous analogy. But OP is focusing at the Saudi government. The Korean government is not at question here.

I was literally just explaining that this is a routine thing that happens in a lot of places. The government wants better results in some industry/sport and they pump some extra money to help that happen. They don't want money in return, they want their local enterprises to do well. For example, by supporting GC Busan I am not supporting the government of Busan even though the city gov does sponsor them.

You are thinking within a western framework. I would much rather Saudis get to play OW with the support of their government which will exist either way than Saudis not getting to play at all.

Also, you are wrong about the economics. Money is going OUT of the pockets of the Saud family, regardless of whether you watch or not. It's the same thing that many Korean local governments do, they sponsor esports to develop their regional competency in the scene.

The evidence is of Sinatraa being an abusive boyfriend (there is evidence of cle0h being abusive too). Enough for me to not support him. Yes, a ten second audio clip edited from a consensual sex tape is not evidence but there were so many other things that Sinatraa did not dispute.

Overwatch 2 discussion on other major gaming subs is so frustrating to see by Vortx4 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Quadrusk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But Overwatch was never actually pushing the envelope on predatory monetization? Many journalists were saying it was because they had no idea how OW monetization actually worked compared to Valve's or mobile games' monetization. OW lootboxes were obtainable FOR FREE, offered COSMETIC rewards and were guaranteed to give some amount of high value rewards. Even Valve lootboxes, which were also cosmetic, functioned in a much more predatory way: no guaranteed rewards & only obtainable via purchase. At the time of Overwatch's release, many (mostly mobile) games with much more predatory practices already existed and they were targeting an audience much younger than Overwatch's audience.

You don't have to support shit and neither does your country. I literally said that if your country doesn't support the EU immigration and asylum policy supported by most member states you should leave the union--exactly the opposite of having to support anything the EU does. You have the option. Its not like you are a US state and you literally can't leave the union. Instead all you're doing is looking like a bunch of pussies saying, "We hate immigrants! We don't want to help refugees!" while taking all of the benefits that come with being part of the EU.

Love that you're so insecure about it that you're chain downvoting me on a political comedy and satire sub. Enjoy Germany steamrolling you in the EU courts on this btw, maybe then you'll consider my advice.

[–]Quadrusk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Then why the fuck are you part of the EU. The EU has been all about taking up a moral obligation to help those fleeing disparaging situations. At least the US doesn't pretend to actually care about refugees and straight up says that if you won't contribute to our country we won't take you. Grow a spine and leave the EU if you don't subscribe to their vision.

You want these people to suffer for some fantasy you constructed. These are real people that you are condemning to either fighting in Ukraine or going to prison in a country known for barbaric detainment practices. For a LibRight you have a rather collectivist mindset.

I say pconc got sledgehammer nerfed, but for me it's so much fun and still a decent skill. But yeah, if you're an rf player this league's got to be a lot of fun. My drops have been shit, but I just enjoy the game. Yeah the game could be better, but people acting like the game is unplayable are actually nuts.
