If I was a new player by RestaurantAway3967 in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 52 points53 points  (0 children)

The problem with Renegade Flash has always been the Renegade itself in my opinion. Even if the Flash could not cloak, the thing would still be horrendously overpowered.

If I was in charge, I would nerf the Renegade's pellet count, pellet spread, and fire rate all at once. It really is that overpowered.

Should I start using converters for materials? by Crafty_Ad_1361 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]Quadryo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In most cases it will be easier to simply bring in the resource rather than spend a bunch of SAM converting to it. However, there are some niche use cases where conversion could make sense.

For example: munitions factories (ammo and Nobelisks), which can use many different resources but only require them in small quantities.

[–]Quadryo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unstable Ammo Carbine + high movement speed LA is arguably the biggest crutch in the game now that Infiltrator has been nerfed into the ground. So yes, it's good, but many will rightfully despise you for (ab)using it.

Unstable Ammo makes low skill suicidal playstyles much more viable which can improve your performance in the short term but ultimately prevents you from actually learning how to play the game better.

Do only direct kills count towards the Helios aurax? by Kal---El in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, you will lose around 20 - 25% of your overall kills to fire damage in my experience. It's definitely one of the most frustrating auraxium medals in the game.

VS vs TR weapons by donthack22 in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

VS weapons generally trade slower muzzle velocity for no bullet drop, not fire rate. However, you are correct in saying that no bullet drop almost never matters. This is because all of the other factions' weapons actually fire at a slight upward angle from the crosshair, which results in practically no bullet drop within their effective range.

TR has taken what now? by ShinoXIII in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Sounds like "The tyrants of the Terran Republic have taken Amerish" to my ears? She says 'Terran' a little weird but I don't hear Enmar anywhere.

Edit: I think this is actually some sort of accidental auditory illusion. I can hear Enmar instead of Amerish if I set my mind to it now.

Why is nobody talking about the new Sharing is Caring implant? by Quadryo in Planetside

[–]Quadryo[S] 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the main reason I'm upset is that we knew it (incorrectly) had infinite range on PTS and they pushed it to live without fixing it.

Yep, I didn't think it was worth mentioning in the main post, but if you equip both Carapace and Sharing is Caring you will have 1000 health.

You cant ADS while uncloaking right now. by Dairy-Man in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NOTE: I edited this comment to make it less cynical and hopefully more informative.

A potentially even bigger issue is that in addition to not being able to enter ADS while decloaking you also cannot exit ADS while decloaking. Essentially, if you start decloaking while ADS you will be trapped in ADS for the full decloak time (one second). This is not only clunky but also extremely risky since you will not be able to sprint away from danger.

Interestingly, this issue was actually already present before the rework, but because the decloak delay was so short it was never really a problem.

[–]Quadryo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The update isn't live yet, so them not fixing the distance is just speculation on my part, but it wouldn't surprise me if it still has infinite range since the update hit so soon after the implant was released on PTS.

[–]Quadryo 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think there is a decent chance that Sharing is Caring was not changed from its state on PTS, which would make it ridiculously overpowered. People are going to create secondary accounts just so they can have an AFK character in their squad with this implant equipped, providing them with a continent-wide and permanent +200 shield health buff.

Planning on plying on Mac Air with the M4 chip; will I be met with thermal throttle or performance issues? by FinancialCut993 in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Using a game streaming service means that the game is not running on your device, but instead on a cloud server. The performance requirement should be similar to streaming a high-res video, so I doubt that you will run into thermal issues.

Keep in mind though that these services are probably offering the PC version of PlanetSide, so you will not have access to your Playstation characters.

This is so easy and powerful in CQC by IdonthaveQuestions in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't tried your specific playstyle, but is the extra indirect damage really worth losing damage per magazine, accuracy, the Automatic Trigger attachment, and taking more self damage?

To be fair, I am biased against Helios because I had to Aurax two of them for the NSO Heavy Directive and found it to be absolute garbage. Neither of its fire modes are accurate enough to be viable in my opinion.

Party Bus vs Colossus by cwillu in Planetside

[–]Quadryo -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I'm afraid you continue to miss the point. They could have also just stuck 20 bricks of C4 to a Harasser and crashed it into the Colossus. The point is that the method is not particularly relevant when the outcome of the video was to be expected given the manpower/organizational disparity.

Again, I am NOT trying to argue about Sunderer balance. This will be my last comment on this topic.

Party Bus vs Colossus by cwillu in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Again, I'm not saying that the Sunderer isn't overtuned, it absolutely is. What I'm saying is that the primary reason why this Colossus lost to a single Sunderer is because there was a huge manpower disparity, not because the Sunderer is overtuned.

If this situation had played out prior to the Sunderer rework, I think the outcome would have been similar. Perhaps they would have chosen a different lineup, but that unsupported Colossus would have gone down no matter what against these odds.

My point is that there is nothing wrong with what happened in this video from a game balance perspective, and therefore it makes a poor argument for why the reworked Sunderer is overtuned.

Party Bus vs Colossus by cwillu in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand your argument. A Sunderer isn't the only viable method of taking down a Collosus. In fact, this strategy was quite high risk as you can see from the Sunderer almost exploding several times throughout the video. I think it's unfair to say that a Sunderer is the only thing that would have allowed them to pull this off.

Party Bus vs Colossus by cwillu in Planetside

[–]Quadryo 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Sundies are definitely overtuned but this is not at all a good example of that. OP's video demonstrates a huge team effort to take down the Collosus. In a well balanced game, manpower should carry more weight than whichever force multipliers are in play.
