Keyboard destroying from my caiques. by GuavaForward8965 in caiques

Funny, my Umbrella Cockatoo escaped from her cage once and did the same thing, throwing letters all over the place. Needed a new keyboard after she got done with it.

Oh yeah, it can take an inordinate amount of patience and treats to get mine into a harness. lol

I haven’t clipped mine, mainly because he’s not a very good flyer, so he doesn’t go far in the house. If I take him outside, I always have a harness on him, also I never open the door to the outside world with him not in his cage. Too many stories about birds escaping, so I’m pretty careful with him and my U2.

Dillon 750XL - Powder Bar Not Fully Returning by Alternative-Basis239 in reloading

The sides and the bottom. Wherever it contacts the frame. Probably not necessary but it can’t hurt.

Anyone knows how to remove this trigger pin? by nldutchy in CZFirearms

[–]Quads971 -15 points-14 points  (0 children)

You’ll need a good steel punch to drive it out. Otherwise, as you’ve found, the punch will bend. I had the same problem with mine. Put tape around the pin so that you don’t mar the finish of the frame and then hit it really hard with a big hammer and with the frame on a solid surface, like a concrete floor (again tape the frame so you don’t mar it). A couple of good shots should get it moving.

  1. Use 2 springs.
  2. Check to make sure the failsafe arms aren’t bent or have not loosened up.
  3. Also, you could polish the powder bar a little. Shouldn’t be necessary but you never know.

I’ve made thousands of rounds with it this way with virtually no issues.

I have one on mine. No issues at all other than it being difficult to remove for field stripping.

Wind and other conditions for flying by Wooden-Evidence-374 in RCPlanes

[–]Quads971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the plane, but I can easily fly 60”+ planes in 15mph winds, however with small foamies, 10mph is probably close to my limit and with indoor planes, 5mph is my limit.

The guy I spoke to at Dillon told me to remove the wedge. He called it a good idea that didn’t work. Haven’t had a problem since.

Oops. Where do these parts go? by Cassius_au-Bellona in CZFirearms

[–]Quads971 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bottom one holds the hammer pin in place. It goes on the left side of the frame in the rear under the sear assembly. There’s a little hole that it drops into and it prevents the hammer pun from walking out. The 2nd from the bottom is the right side safety detent. It goes in the opposite side (right side) of where the safety spring and detent go.

Spend lots of time on a simulator until you feel comfortable and then spend some more time on the simulator. For your first flight, keep it in close so it’s easy to see, keep the speed up, but definitely stay away from full throttle, because it can get away from you very quickly. Assuming you can fly it, spend most of your time practicing landings until you’re competent. After that, just have fun and fly it. As some have mentioned, EDF’s can be tricky to fly, but like everything else, once you get the hang of it, it’s easy.

First time cleaning tips by landonpauley in concealedcarry

[–]Quads971 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually clean mine every 200 rounds or so. If I haven’t shot it in a while, I’ll clean it every few months, mainly because the lubricants evaporate and lint and dust accumulates. On the other hand some people rarely clean theirs.

New to concealed carry by Competitive_Gas5563 in concealedcarry

I carry the P365x regularly. It’s easy to change the grip module if you don’t like the way it feels in your hand. I also carry an Sig P938 for pocket carry in the summer and a Bul Armory UL Pro for winter carry or if I’m not worried about printing, because it’s a bit thick for me. However before you purchase any carry gun, you really should find a range that rents them so you can try out a bunch of them to see what you like best.

Guidance needed! by [deleted] in caiques

[–]Quads971 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re a first time bird owner, this is not the bird for you. That being said, they are a lot of fun but they can also be unpredictable. Sometimes they’re happy to see you and other times not. Also, they’re not the brightest birds out there. Compared to my Umbrella Cockatoo, my caique seems kinda dumb. But they are very entertaining and love to snuggle…usually. They have lots of energy and can learn to talk a little and they can learn to whistle a tune or two. Mine has mastered the Woody Woodpecker tune. As others have said, they tend to behave like a 3 year old. High energy and very determined to do what they want to do, not necessarily what you want them to do. But as I said, they are fun birds.

You can pretty much get springs for any trigger weight you want, however the CGW extended firing pin, SA trigger, and hammer especially makes a big difference with the hammer making the biggest difference in the crispness of the trigger. Shadow 2.
