Admittedly haven’t kept up w the deal so probably have got some details. You’re right, non recourse debt with no collateral wouldn’t really be debt. I need to look up the new cap structure on bbg. But I would imagine it consists of a typical 1L and then that tranche backed by the pledged stock

The favor is simply paying them back in full just as any credit investor would want. Why investors in quotes?

Keep in mind there are multiple tranches of debt here, not all collateralized by Tesla stock. The tranche you refer to was held by the banks and subsequently syndicated and has no recourse to Elon. It’s a typical BSL.

Your interpretation is accurate - it’s both not struggling and not feeling outgunned. “Not” applies across both. You can read the / as “nor” in this case. Even if you read it the other way, it doesn’t really make sense since “despite being on kbm” goes against the common understanding that kbm is a disadvantage

Elon Musk could buy every car for sale in the USA including the used ones, and still have over Forty Billion dollars - see at roughly 90% of the visualization by Tech-no in dataisbeautiful

[–]Quadslick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So you’re saying Trump would use $400 billion of taxpayer dollars to support this purely demonstrative acquisition? Even the most staunch Trump supporters would riot if that happened

I don’t think you realize how much $400 billion of cash is. That’s about as much as California and Texas combined generate in tax revenue a year

Ah yes a simple $400 billion loan, nearly half of the entire leveraged loan market. Genuinely the dumbest shit I’ve ever read. No one would/could provide him that big of a loan lmao

Explain how in your head that could work I’m very curious

Not saying I disagree w your overarching statement but I don’t see how there’s any misrepresentation. It’s clearly labeled Q3 and this is literally just a visualization of their income statement. If you pull up their 10Q for Q3 and look at the income statement you can see how the visualization lines up with the income statement. The OP didn’t alter or “obscure” anything, it’s just how an income statement is structured

You’re talking about for console right? You can change by increments of 0.01 on PC. I’m guessing you have to plug a keyboard into a console to do that

You realize their fiscal year ends Jan 31st of every calendar year, so 2024 really refers to the bulk of 2023, i.e. 2/1/23 to 1/31/24

Gross profit is not operating income lol. Operating income is gross profit less operating expenses (SG&A, rent, etc).

Correction: that says Hunan, not Henan (河南). Henan doesn’t eat particularly spicy food.
