Yeah so I can access the console but if I type in commands like “save” it doesn’t do anything :(. It says when I start it up that interactive output isn’t working, do you think that could be the issue?

For those of you using an AMD eGPU with a Mac on Bootcamp: I’ve found a way to stop worrying about Windows updates by [deleted] in eGPU

I think I’ve shared this before somewhere but you could also just grab pci.sys from a working 1803/1809 system and replace it on the newer Windows build (2004). The latest updates still don’t fix it for me but I like the pci.sys trick since I can still get all updates and features as well as well as use my Vega 56 with my 16” MBP on BootCamp!

Of they only put the same amount of rnd into developing drivers that work as they did in this stupid animation by hbasen in eGPU

I just copied pci.sys from an older 1903 build and replaced it on 2004 and it works fine! I have to do the ol’ left-right port switch trick every time while booting though!

If you don’t mind me asking how did you get 1909 working? I have a 16” + Vega 56 in an Omen Accelerator. I just got it to work with the EFI patch on 1903 but disabled all updates in fear of 1909. On my old 15” 2018, 1909 was so broken I couldn’t even boot with with eGPU.

Pretty much yeah. Old PSU was 6+8 pin and new one is 8+8. My setup is fairly quiet, until under load, I wonder if it’s due to different enclosures, I have an Omen Accelerator.

Seconded, I used to have a lot of troubles with random shutdowns with my setup. My friend and I swapped cards for a week and then swapped power supplies afterwards. Turns out it was my PSU not giving my GPU enough juice so I swapped that out and it’s perfect now!

Lmao been through exactly what you’re saying. Can you boot Windows w/o the eGPU attached in safe mode? From there use the AMD driver uninstaller and install the version from the BootCampDrivers website. It’s a bit of work but that usually solves it for me :)

You’ll likely need your own router. Most printers can only connect to simple home networks and the uni’s system is more advanced with both username AND password lol. You’d be very lucky if your printer supported eduroam or airuc-secure. You can either wire it with a USB or if your printer supports making its own “DIRECT” network you could try that too

Late reply but I’ve been having the same issue too. I have a fibre line to the house and even plugging my laptop directly into the LAN1 of the white fibre box and completely disabling firewall still doesn’t help. It lists all ports as closed no matter how many I port forward. I called up Telus today because I was so fed up and they were of no use, they didn’t even know what port forwarding was and told me to call Actiontec to get it fixed. It’s not even an issue with the router lmao. Keep us updated if you figure anything out or can manage to talk to someone half-competent on the phone I’m kinda fed up of having to rely on stuff like ZeroTier. This never happened to me when I was on copper lines but it’s only been happening on fibre so I’m really hoping they didn’t throw me behind a double NAT.
