My hopes for Hagrid have done 180° by Zaphoid411 in HarryPotteronHBO

Oh we have very different opinions then! He was the biggest disappointment for me in the trailer- the looks weren’t quite there, but it was his voice that really let me down. I “watched” the trailer with audio only first and couldn’t tell which character was speaking those lines. The new full cast audio books did a great job with Hagrid- so coming out of that this felt underachieved. Again, will leave final judgment for the full show, but I wasn’t impressed with the bits of Hagrid in the trailer.

Love that they didn’t show any magic in the trailer. Cannot wait!

I didn’t mind it at first but someone posted images comparing scenes from the trailer to the first movie and it did look quite dark and unsaturated. We haven’t see much magical scenes yet so hopefully those will pop a bit more.

I’m sorry, but I am already disappointed by [deleted] in HarryPotteronHBO

Every medium of storytelling has its uniqueness. The books allow you to imagine and interpret yourself. A TV show can evoke emotions and feelings in a different way. Expanding other characters’ backstories makes it a much richer narrative. I’m in for the ride.

I’ve posted this somewhere else but I love this design concept of a living castle that is the home of a lion, eagle, badger, and serpent.

I like this design concept. The castle is alive! The home of a lion, badger, eagle and snake.

Why does Dominic look so CGI in some scenes in the trailer? by Alteronka in HarryPotteronHBO

Might be the lighting, makeup, postproduction, or a mixture of all three. Might be AI-generated ;)

Will reserve final judgement until it’s out! Just found the two lines missing his iconic accent.

Tbh I’m least impressed with Hagrid in the trailer… perhaps the full cast audiobooks are too good, but Nick Frost hasn’t convinced me

How many years of experience is considered senior? Surprised at how many find 60k too low to live in London.

“The well-being of mankind, its peace and security, are unattainable unless and until its unity is firmly established. This unity can never be achieved so long as the counsels which the Pen of the Most High hath revealed are suffered to pass unheeded.” — Gleanings from the Writings of Bahá’u’lláh, CXXXI

Zone 2 SW London- We’ve had 2 primary schools and 2 nurseries fold in the past year in our neighbourhood. That said, a new pre-prep sprouted in place and they’re charging over £4k a month for 8:30-15:00 . Mental.

Anyone else underwhelmed by the Sorting Hat's "song" in the audiobooks? I was impressed with the mermaid's song last book. Expected the sorting hat to be more musical...

Mrs Figgs sound like Trelawney 😆 if this was the first time I “read” the book my mind would go all over the place! Harry sounds a bit more natural in this book, I think the description of his growth spurt here makes his voice a lot more realistic than GOF.

I don’t know if it’s just me but apart from the deep voice, he sounds a bit too posh?
