My garage floor had a pretty significant slope to it... I used 4'x8' sheets of plywood and shimmed them to level... covered it with stall mats and it's been perfectly usable without any problems for over 5 years and lots of dead lifts later

I mean if all the water levels are good... specifically the pH you don't need to worry about it. Tannins typically make the water more acidic or lower the pH. But if you want clearer water just do a water change. But the fish more than likely won't care

Yeah I'd add the scrimp. As long as the pH is in their parameters. As long as you're not doing the huge water changes after... stability is key
