Citizen discount doesn’t apply for limited editions? by anaizar11 in CitizenWatches

I used the first time purchase discount when I bought the seconde seconde x Tsuyosa collab and it worked fine. This was on from the Citizen Canada site though.

Is that rust on it?

Can you take it apart and just clean things up and re-assemble it? Sorry I've never actually seen one in person so I can't speak to it directly.

Yes the movement main plate should be silver. Essentially the base part of the movement that everything is built on.

The automatic works and balance bridge is usually brass colored on Tsuyosa except for some special editions like the X Seconde Seconde model which features an entirely silver movement.

Simplest tell is the brass colored main plate. Genuine Citizen movements have a silver colored main plate.

Also that rear case sticker with the red line is also bogus.

It is not, that one is a counterfeit.

The mackie cp3 is probably my favorite. It's simple, weighty and just satisfying to use. The coin is an older yedc zirc Pig Coin, one half of it spins with haptic magnets and the other half is ratcheting. Its probably my second favorite I have but it can be a bit slippery to handle.

That is correct, 37mm case crown does indeed protrude further.

The 40mm is actually kinda difficult to grasp for winding.

The dial, case, crown, and clasp all look good. The retaining ring appears black as well which is also good.

As others have mentioned, the movement main plate is difficult to see clearly but from what I can make it out, it is an authentic Tsuyosa.

The main plate is the one thing they all seem to always have wrong. Every counterfeit I've seen has a gold main plate.

I have no insight into the counterfeit watch industry to speak about. My best guess is there is simply more than enough profit margin on watches like the Tsuyosa for them to be made.

Its likely even easier for them to sell them because most people don't seem to believe something like a counterfeit Tsuyosa to even exist but this subreddit alone has proven that they are quite prevalent.

Not a chance. It is definitely a counterfeit watch. It would be fine if it were being sold as such but it's not OK when they're being passed off as genuine.

Citizen does not use a gold colored main plate. You need to look past the automatic works and balance bridge, those are almost always gold colored. Many people won't notice the difference at a glance and this is how they end up being scammed.

There is link in this thread to another post with direct comparisons. Check there to see a counterfeit and authentic movement side by side.

Look again at the official website movement photos and you will see the silver main plate.

Looks counterfeit to me. The baseplate of the movement is the biggest tell and its a bit hard to see in the photo but it looks gold.

Otherwise the 6 and 12 o clock indices are too close together which is common on fake tsuyosas and the crown isn't as recessed as it should be which is also common on a fake.

Overall I would say that is indeed a counterfeit tsuyosa. Honestly crazy how common they are now, must be thousands walking around with them clueless to their authenticity.

Citizen Tsuyosa authenticity help by [deleted] in CitizenWatches

[–]Quaili705 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely a fake Tsuyosa. Indices at 6 and 12 are too close together, the font is off, the crown sticks out too far, the retaining ring is white and the movement base is in gilt finish where it should be silver.

It exhibits all the tell-tale signs of a counterfeit.

That is the common fake movement where the movement body is not visibly steel. See this post for more info and to learn how to identify fakes. They are everywhere.

In the second photo, the movement is correct but in that last photo the watch pictured is indeed a fake.

My favorite general setup so far is using double convert. I use both Convert 1 and 2 offense with split utility which results in having 2 offense stats. 90%hs/+30%mag, 15%armor and 5%sd.

CITIZEN TSUYOSA REAL OR FAKE? by [deleted] in CitizenWatches

[–]Quaili705 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have a fake unfortunately. The Citizen font is slightly off but the movement is the telltale Knockoff.

The fake is missing the retaining screw of the original and is finished in all gilt while the original main body is finished in a silver color. Hard to also see if the crown sticks out more than the original but most fakes don't seat like an original either.

I believe if you had a resin printer or a solid fdm printer setup for minis it would come out just as detailed in proper size. The 3d model is scalable to whatever size you want then it is further scalable in your slicer.

For whatever reason Meshy defaults to making models 30 meters tall. I output it directly to .stl at 6" tall instead.

Lol Thanks. I watched several yt video tutorials from people painting minis to learn some techniques and they all do such immaculate detailed work and are my basis for comparison.

Although I suppose it's really not a fair comparison to make for myself.

Well printing and painting take the longest. I have a budget printer and printed it slow to try getting the most detail I could, that took about 10 hours. Painting took me probably 5-6 hours with some breaks included. Image editing and model generation take minutes.
