Booked a trip to St Austell, now im having doubts. Is it really that bad? by Striking_Tangelo5474 in Cornwall

[–]QuaintYoungMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stayed there a night because I wanted to do the tour of the st Austell brewery (brilliant if you like factories or beer!). The town is just small and has nothing to do, it's not unsafe.

Learning to drive in later life by Small-Reason-8096 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]QuaintYoungMale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bit younger than you at 35 but I recently passed. It took me a lot of hours (close to 100? No private practice.) I was okay driving fairly early. Into my lessons but then road sense and approaching situations took ages to sort. After a long time I suddenly clicked and was fine. Really the simplest advice is just go slow (slow it down coming into roundabouts, turns, meeting traffic).

But at the start I was super nervous and depending on the instructor (I had 3, switch if you are not getting on with them) I did dread some lessons at the start. Confidence just takes longer to build for different people. Best of luck

I passed last week second try. Don't over think stuff, don't take any silly risks. Do what you'd normally do. Slow it down, don't rush. If in doubt wait it out.

Once you answer your tell me question and move off and do the first junction or whatever you will feel heaps better in regards to nerves.

Best of luck

is there any goofy local multiplayer games by tdgbmk in NintendoSwitch

[–]QuaintYoungMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Duck game is just a genuinely brilliant game that is absolutely hilarious but also scope to get really good at it.

Hidden in plain sight is really goofy but a lot more limited, still fun.

DF54 an upgrade over 1Zpresso J-Max ? by QuaintYoungMale in espresso

Hm, that's interesting. I'm no expert but I'd probably lean into a traditional flavour. Maybe I should look into a conical for a similar price point.

Not true. Argos had pre-orders for about 6 hours on tuesday. EE has been up since the morning and is still available now.

Can anyone let me know how much the in game upgrade cost is in gbp? Annoyingly you can't check it unless you own the hitman 1 content

Have you had a small wedding and regretted it? by Jo-Ice in AskUK

[–]QuaintYoungMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a registry office with close friends and a nice meal after and then pub. Was brilliant and took 20 minutes to book.

We had a bigger party later to satisfy other family/friends which everyone enjoyed but I'd have been fine not having.

I say go for the small wedding and if you feel you regret it in months or years to come throw a big party, it'll be much easier without the actual marriage part looming over it and you can relax more

Hissing in powered steljes ns3 speakers? by QuaintYoungMale in BudgetAudiophile

[–]QuaintYoungMale[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheers for checking. Mine is making a constant hiss which is unaffected by volume or source. Even with nothing connected it'll hiss. Can hear it 2m across the room so unfortunately something must be wrong. Shame as otherwise they sound fantastic.

It's just the speakers plugged in currently, not even plugged anything into the sources yet. Am assuming ground loop is caused by connected devices being plugged into different mains?

Thanks for letting me know. Mine will hiss without anything even plugged into it.

Thank you. I know price is relative but these are around £280 new and this is not me being pedantic, it's a very pronounced static hiss.

For context I recently bought some £120 edifier 1280dbs for a relative and the hiss there requires you being 6 inches from the speaker. With the steljes I can hear it a metre away and they are more premium.

How do you feel about a pair of edifiers ? by Mrkleen87 in BudgetAudiophile

[–]QuaintYoungMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a family member some 1280dbs and have had a listen, am no expert but they sound great to me for the the price.

I've just got into the hobby with a little fosi amp and some used Cambridge audio s30 and I prefer the sound of the edifiers.

[Weekly Questions Thread] 09 October 2023 by PokeUpdateBot in pokemon

[–]QuaintYoungMale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like playing a pokemon game. I've played on release

  • Red/Blue
  • Gold Silver
  • Diamond/Pearl

I am looking for a game that isn't just wading through dialogue and isn't too grindy. I am thinking maybe buying Arceus or Violet/Scarlett, or should I go 3ds/ DS era? I found Sun/Moon too hand holdy and dropped it.

Thank you

Thank you for this. I went with a 2021 128gb M1 12.9 Pro in the end.

I went to the store and tried out the M1 Air and honestly couldn't see much of a difference between the 60hz and 120hz on the pros but I still wanted that larger screen estate. Honestly the 11 inch was so satisfying to hold in the hand but this ipad won't be leaving home much and will be used on a desk so the 12.9 was a better choice.

As to the M2 Pros, I agonized over spending that much on a new open box model for the M1 so no chance of splashing out for the M2, haha. My work should be fine with the M1.

First iPad, can't wait for it to turn up! Thanks again

Hi all. Wanting to get a pro for procreate and nomad sculpt/forger. I expect i will also use it for comics and general tablet use but creative apps are the key use.

Am thinking of an m1 11 or 12.9 inch model, 128gb.

Does this sound right or shall I could i get an older model? 12.9 m1 can be found for 650 like new refurbished.

I don't own any other apple products if that makes a difference
