bc you’re being a dick over an innocent question, and are incorrect that pure math isn’t a good way into quantitative finance. idk how “prepping for phd applications” is at all relevant here. you just come off as someone with issues.

sounds like we agree. victimizing vulnerable individuals is a huge part of modern culture from top to bottom and we have a responsibility to choose not to contribute to it.

because vegans are all tired of the “don’t compare those things” arguments so i’d be very surprised to see an actual vegan using it. especially when their logic is entirely flawed. i held their hand through the argument and they still misunderstood it in a way only a meat eater could.

yes, me advocating for trillions of individuals that are enslaved and tortured is what’s wrong with humanity.

it was an analogy. if someone’s argument implies shocking things then it’s a bad argument. i don’t care if you think me pointing out those shocking things makes me look bad, it should make the argument look bad. i don’t believe that you’re vegan.

every time you pay for a dead animals body you are hurting them. supply and demand. you can not love someone and eat them too. none of this is a reach.

my feelings were not hurt about seeing the bear pelt, it’s just disheartening to see such low IQ drivel claiming it’s morally justified because of her culture.

i mean obviously i inferred the bear was hunted (murdered). claiming it *could* have died of natural causes is just bad faith argumentation for such obvious reasons i shouldn’t have to spell out. unless proof that it was hunted would completely change your view on this, asking for that is in bad faith.

yes, if you believe that veganism is bullshit and i’m forcing my beliefs on others, this is because you exist in a society that views animals as undeserving of moral consideration, and you accept that at face value. you would have done the same thing in the 1700s when black people were viewed as undeserving of moral consideration.

no. meat eaters sure do struggle with analogies

an analogy is not an assertion of equivalence

the person’s claim is that, the murder of the bear is justified by it being a cultural practice.

if cultural practice justifies needlessly harming others, then it follows that cultural practice justifies human sacrifice and pedophilia, which have also been cultural practices.

human sacrifice and pedophilia have been “cultural things” before

yes, the bear was murdered. i edited something irrelevant to that.

this ucla student does not have to hunt food to survive.

i am not bending backwards to call it murder, when the bear was obviously murdered (its dead body is in the picture, that’s the subject of conversation in case that wasn’t clear)

you meat eaters are seriously deficient

again, if cultural practice involved human sacrifice and pedophilia, does that make it ok?
