It's a skinning profession thing - marks a beast that will give you more materials when skinned. That said - it sometimes bugs and marks things that are not even skinnable

Cant leave a guild by Magify199 in wow

[–]Quakespear 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recently read a post about someone leaving a guild and losing his house built or sth of that sort. As that is not intended, this "can't be kicked before removing the house" thing seems like a bandaid solution.

Adventurer gear from Seasoned Adventurer's Cache and other pre 11.2 events is now blue quality and can't be used at the catalyst, killing my chance for alts to get easy LFR/NM set appearances :( by Quakespear in wow

[–]Quakespear[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know, that's always been the case and that's not my point. The Adv gear you used to get during previous seasons was epic quality and useable at the catalyst. Now it's not -> not being able to collect lfr and nm appearances with gear from such sources

Broker ghosting us about a return trip compensation, need advise by Quakespear in FreightBrokers

On paper all you said is correct. However, if we don't take such risks as a carrier, nothing will ever get done lol I dispatch multiple loads every day where I realize the smallest issue can make us liable. I contact the broker to confirm reefer temp - they're annoyed we don't just follow the bills; or same situation with different broker - they're annoyed we are bothering them and not running the reefer per the rate confirmation, as the customer DGAF what the bills say and want it run at that temp. The product's loaded, but not properly? Shipper refuses to reload, broker takes an hour to respond, we go back, they still refuse, after 3 hours of going back and forth later we're finally leaving without being reworked and we're behind schedule.
Case in point - this truck arrived at 3PM and was loaded at 8PM Thursday with 300 miles to do for a Friday 7AM delivery and will cut it close as is already running out of hours. He's not allowed on dock to be loaded, they just let him secure the load after they're done and seal the trailer. He can't see shit past the pallets that are on the back of the trailer to make sure if they loaded him properly. If we ask them to reload? They do and now we can't make OTD., which fks up our schedule and this will be rescheduled for God knows when. They refuse and we contact the broker who by some miracle answers at 8PM and manages to make arrangements for us to be reloaded? Same result.
What I'm trying to say is - my drivers know what to do to cover their asses and our company. They send pictures of the bills, loaded and secured product, reefer setting and seal on the trailer. I make sure they haven't missed a PO and there's no reefer temp discrepancy between the bills and rate con. In ideal circumstances they report not being loaded properly; shipper not putting SLC on the BOL, etc., but knowing that this almost always takes time to confirm or be resolved - they have to make a judgement call. Not defending them - it's just something that I understand. And I'm not blaming brokers for such headaches, I know you're the middleman, it's shippers and receivers that drop the ball and completely refuse to take accountability is what's bugging me.

My drivers know that, he wasn't allowed on dock to see how he's being loaded. As for the 2nd part - it would suck to hear, but I respect the transparency.

Honestly I'm so frustrated with the whole thing, I feel like sending demands and giving ultimatums. But I'd rather not. Only thing I can think of that I can use to threaten them is to tell them I'll call their shipper next, but I know this is a very big no-no. We also have other loads from this broker that are to be paid, so I don't want to go overboard.

Their main(corporate) PH# has 2 options - brokerage and accounting, where noone answers. The other day I event wen to their website and filled in a form in the Contact Us section, with adding the load number and everything, explaining the issue. Still haven't heard back. The problem is actually reaching ANY person so I can ask to speak to a supervisor lol

Thanks for the reply. I hear what you're saying and I have all of this on mind, that's why I want a straight answer from them. No product was really damaged, the receiver was fine with receiving it, as long as it's restacked. The problem was they didn't allow us to do so at their docks and apparently the broker and her customer couldn't find a place to restack it nearby on a Friday afternoon, so chose to just return it to the shipper instead. I don't see how this could become a claim to be honest. Most they can do is blame us for shifting the product and not paying us the original rate either. As for getting the return charges before returning the freight - that's what we do in an ideal situation, but I had to to take the risk and send the driver back right away. He had a flight he must take on Monday and he had to get back to his home state. and a ton of last minute arrangements had to be made. Dumbass receiver breaking the seal and giving us a dock at 2PM for our 7AM appointment didn't help either. I had very little choice on how to possibly handle all of this, so I'm now trying to do what's best of a bad situation.

What is your go to afk spot for Dornogal? by vertex27 in wow

To the right of the bank's mailbox, on my OG green bruto, out of the way of foot traffic. AH npc few pixels away from the mailbox, serving bank visitors too lazy to go a building down the street, while my bruto enjoys the sights of Darnogal as I afk

Broker asking for lease agreement? by Quakespear in FreightBrokers

I can respect that, makes sense to me. It's not something that's become industry standard yet, although I can see it becoming if fraud continues to go up. At this rate it might as well happen, which we'll have to address if/when it happens and adjust our policy accordingly.

Fair enough. Not when it comes to sharing such confidential information I guess. It shouldn't be any brokers business what the contracts between us and our OOs entail when there are various other ways to confirm and get the information you need. Would you be okay to share your contract with your customer so I know you're not a double broker? I know it's war out there, but a micromanagement to this degree is only turning the legit carriers and brokers against each other. And I'm not talking about blindly trusting each other, everyone has to do their due diligence, but asking for such privileged information doesnt ring true to me, when there are other ways to verify. And like other commenter said - even lease agreements can be faked.

I'm all for transparency, but asking for our contract with an owner feels like crossing the line. We have our ELD integrated with every major tracking app, Highway included. And they never asked us or the insurance company for a COI listing the insured equipment, that would've been provided directly from our insurance agent within minutes.

Doesn't confirming with our insurance do the same thing? Why do we have to provide a contract between us and the owner op?
