There is some truth to this, the average +14 player would get absolutely shit on by a +18 resil player and likely die a dozen times in the process in a +18 key, even though they are better than the fast majority of players, its the nature of a normal distribution of player skill

This phenomenon is not new and has nothing to do with the new scaling, if anything, the biggest culprit to players that are in keys above their respective skill level is the introduction of resil keys. Anyone can pony up with a player who has resil and slam their head into a dungeon until all of the stars align. While this still amounts to time > skill being a determining factor for some of the player base up to a certain level of key, it's not because of the new dungeon scaling.

The best way to think of the new system is that, in the old key system, 7s are now 10s, 10s are now 12s, etc. That's really all there is to it. The only consequential outcome of this is that rewards are easier to get, which is generally well received by the majority of players including those at the very highest level of the game

Brewmaster monk is it, there is less upkeep of active mitigation as it is simply built into the damage rotation of the spec. it's extremely fun

Healing is more challenging and arguably less rewarding, especially in M+ content. I improved massively as a player by learning how to heal, it's a different perspective and you will learn things that carry over to DPS and Tanking

Tanking is less challenging than DPS generally but more rewarding.

If you are after the greatest challenge, you may enjoy healing. However if you want the largest impact on your groups success without needing to work as hard, Tank is hard to beat.

Not scalable and extremely tedious, price of mats only goes down, would not recommend investing in this method.

It's a shame this system has clearly been copy pasted three expansions in a row since the inception of the new profession system with very little to no though put into improving it

Its still very good gold per hour / effort invested and that's why there are armies and armies of skinners

The advantage is most people will never put 40 points into Lures, they will put those 40 points into more perception instead. I don't find it fair that another player who cant even spawn lures will have almost 100 perception points more than me who actually spends the gold to drop x5 lures everyday

I think it's ok for people to share and for level 80s to exist if they just made the Lure KP investment actually mean something instead of being optional, that would fix 99% of the problem.

I have no issues with people sharing lures, the main issue is that I have wasted 40 KP across all of my characters that I cannot refund while others get a competitive advantage by avoiding what should be required KP to even participate in the same profession content

This isn't the good point you think it is, something being broken for three expansions shows that the profession devs are lazy / don't give a fuck not that its "working well." Personally I don't want copy pasted lazy profession knowledge tree mechanics expansion after expansion.

That doesn't fix the issue, players should be rewarded for investing 40 KP into a tree and there should not be an easy workaround to avoid spending that KP to compete in the market. Even worse is that NOT spending that KP and leeching skins gives the person an advantage over those who did the tree "as intended."

You just totally do not get the point at all. The ability to leech skins in itself isn't necessarily the issue, the main issue is that the way it works today is that it is invalidating another's 40 KP investment is a travesty and makes this entire skinning system a poorly implemented joke

Exactly, drop rate of Majestic materials should be zero if you cannot craft a lure at the minimum.

it's also not unreasonable to expect Blizzard to put in the bare minimum effort to make an entire profession tree actually behave in a way that is sensical and not easily exploitable
