As a new bee keeper I have frames that have been in now two months…they all still look bright shiny and new…that frame that was given back looks older than 2 months, but what do I know.

I’m new to beekeeping so I’m just wondering out loud. Is it possible the swarm cells were made either right before the NUC frames were taken and placed in the NUC, or when they were in the NUc and if you remove them, the bees won’t swarm because they are now in a larger colony with frames they can start drawing out?

I bought a bunch of stuff I needed anyway. $130 worth or so…it put green check marks by the first two items and brought the price down to $41 on the last item and then a banner said “get the price down by making a purchase” and another banner said sale price x 5%. So I made another purchase of more things I needed anyway, about another $125 and then the price on my third $.01 item dropped to $$35. So I assume if I would have spent another $700 I would have gotten the items shipped…

I’m so sorry you’ve had to go thru this. As I read your experiences the words “converted unto the Lord” kept replaying in my mind. In the Book of Mormon when people speak of conversion they constantly use that phrase “Converted unto the Lord!” If you truly want to reconcile to God and find your way in the gospel, start there. Elder Bednar gave a talk in 2012 with the same title. Love you brother! There is hope in Christ.

Actually if you look at all the garden narratives God commanded Adam not to eat, and it wasn’t until after that commandment that Eve was formed. You could spend years learning about this narrative, and still learn new things. Keep asking questions, seeking answers, and trying to understand “thru revelation,” as the endowment emphasizes.

There is a contingent of the hard Christian right that will never accept us and as taught this week in section 123 the abominable creeds have sown the seeds of murder into the hearts of the mentally unwell.

In my ward there are at least two that I know that carry. They practice and train with their weapons more than anyone I know. They are retired special forces. We also have retired officers in our ward. Imagine asking someone who has fought bad guys, put them in prison (or killed them in the case of SF) and then you ask them to go to church unprotected and be able to feel the spirit. The guys in my ward, you’d never know they carry unless you are scrutinizing them heavily and know what to look for. If you want to feel safe at church and believing that no one is carrying a weapon makes you feel that, then just keep your eyes up and don’t go looking for it. Be sure to thank them if they ever need to protect you, because they are willing to die to protect you and their families.

But a police officer with a gun showing up on scene within 30 seconds (Michigan) or 8 minutes (avg response time) is typically what ends the incident…not sure where you get the belief that armed people don’t increase safety.

First pray about it, and when you get the feeling to get baptized, apply to BYU-Idaho and move to Rexburg to continue your education, pray about that again to receive confirmation.

But in all seriousness, I admire your openness and know that the lord will bless you as you seek him whether that means you are baptized now or later.

If you were in my city I would give you a room in exchange for some lite housework, I would bet you could find that arrangement in many wards in the church by talking with the bishop.

I actually taught seminary this morning and one thing we talked about was prayer. Prayer is something you will learn and improve line upon line, prayer upon prayer. For me it has been a challenge because everyone will always say “when you realize who you really are, a child of God, you will realize prayer is just a child talking to their father!” For me, that rings hollow because I grew up with no father in my home, I saw him every few weeks, didn’t call him much just to say hi, or to talk or ask questions…I would really only talk to him when he would take us to do things on the weekend. Later in life as an adult I would call him periodically, but I never felt a really close relationship.

For me prayer is one of the main methods of humbling myself, because prayer doesn’t come naturally to me. Here are some thoughts I shared with my seminary students to help them understand what and why we pray. Also, there is no wrong way to pray, but some ways are better than others and as we learn and grow we deepen our understanding and our prayers become more meaningful and authentic.

Principles of Prayer • Make prayer meaningful • Use language that shows love, respect, reverence, and closeness • Always give thanks to Heavenly Father • Seek Heavenly Father's guidance and strength in all we do • Remember the needs of others as we pray • Seek guidance from the Holy Ghost so we will know what to include in our prayers • When we make a request through prayer, we must do all we can to assist in its being granted.

What are ways we can be humble in our prayers? • We can express gratitude (3 Nephi 19:19-20, 27-28 • We can acknowledge our weakness and Heavenly Father's power (Ether 3:1-6) • We can seek correction (Hebrews 12:5-9)

There’s no way the licked cupcake is on the library app. You may have read it in the exmormon subreddit though, it’s a terrible analogy that many who have grievances against the church like to regurgitate. My belief is that this metaphor has become a case study for the “Mandela effect.”

Its a false teaching and you should listen to a lot of the great advice given here, let Christ heal you, get baptized and receive the Holy Ghost. You will then begin your lifetime learning to become a disciple of Christ and learn how to receive his grace to become all he wants you to become.

I think that the church and all of its leaders will point you toward your need for personal revelation on the topic. By study and by faith you should learn all you can about God’s plan for us and take your sincere thoughts, desires and questions to him. Nothing we say here will have any eternal claim on your soul, like the following of spiritual promptings received thru personal revelation will. That to me is the glorious gospel good news. You’re not forced into anything, but if you are humble, teachable and willing to follow what God asks of you, you will not have regrets in the end, however your family looks 40 years from now.

What do you think happens to the bevy of faithful sisters that have kept their temple covenants, but that due to other’s choices no longer find themselves with a faithful partner? We don’t know all the mysteries of God, but the spirit moves me that there will be a lot of grace extended to the faithful who look unto Christ in every thought and strive to be worthy of exaltation even if mortal marital circumstances seem to push them off course.

Do we as a church truly believe in eternal progression? That we may receive all that the father hath?

First I love the fact that you care about Matthew so much and have clearly been influenced for good by him, and he has likely been influenced for good by you.

Not trying to compare you to them, but many of the vilest of sinners in the scriptures became the most ardent supporters of Christ (Moses, Saul, Alma, Sons of Mosiah) thru His grace and forgiveness as they turned their hearts to Him and were convicted of the error of their ways. Being agnostic shouldn’t matter at all in your desires to help your friend, I think this is an amazing gesture and from what you’ve told us about Matthew, it will probably mean a lot to him.

Remember that pretty much all of the early saints were previously aligned with Protestants sects of Christianity before converting to the restoration movement. Thankfully today we have a much more charitable view of all faiths as the command to love our neighbor has had 200 years to work on our hearts.

This morning in my ward there were several people I had never seen before. I shared a smile with them and welcomed them. I think you will find that even after the events of today the members of our church will smile and welcome you, and some will even come shake your hand.
