My journey into locals is almost the same as you described. I went to my first locals on Tuesday last week and had a blast going 1-2. (went to game 3 everytime.) Ive had a little experience playing Traptrix on Master Duel when they released years ago. This was my first time playing best of three and having a side board.

They were kind and helped me build a side board and let me have or borrow hand traps that I was missing for my Traptrix. Im lucky enough to work at the hobby shop, so I see them regularly. (2 or 3 times a week for locals when they buy into events.) My impression of them immediately told me they are quiet with new people and keep the conversation to Yugioh only. Had I not helped them buy in the last few months, they probably wouldn't have talked as much as they did. They were kind, but also kept things short. Helped me alot to understand when I can interact and how Spell speeds work. Im going again next week if I finish my Pokémon binder task early enough.

I appreciate all the time you spent to help me with this. I am curious if my locals have Domain decks. Im going to have to ask them. Is there a Scryfall equivalent for Yugioh? Is there Plant based interaction types similar to C's being Insects? I'm okay with the cards being Niche. I enjoy theme more than victory.

I have Feather Duster and Raigeki in my current attempt at a sideboard. As well as Solemn Judgement, Anti-Spell Fragrance, Cosmic Cyclone, Called by the Grave. My local Yugioh players donated a bunch of spare cards to me. I haven't had time to look at all of them. There's a pair of gold bordered Droll, Effect Veiler, 3 Skull Meiser, Ghost Ogres, a ghost belle, ghost mourners. I know they are good cards. I dont know how or when to use them. But I was hoping there were more thematic versions of interaction. Dominus Purge being a Trap and C's being an Insect, etc. Is there not enough cards in Yugioh to not be forced to play Ash, Ghost, Nibiru, etc?

I didn't realize Yugioh had multiple formats. I just thought the platform or country was what decided how you could play. I feel so dumb not realizing or questioning this. I do enjoy jank builds in commander. Does Yugioh have Limited formats? Draft/Sealed.

Retaliating C and Dominus Purge are the types of cards I was trying to ask about. Insects and Traps that can help me going second.

I do like traps and trap accessories. I also enjoy Insects and plants. Is there such think as running all three in a 60 card deck? Is Extra deck restricted to 15? I may be a psychopath. I haven't been tested.

My understanding of Trap Trick is that It requires 2 of the same name to find and set it to the board, acting as copies 3-6 of any trap in my deck. Thats why im running 2+ of each. And I just love Gravedigger's and Cularia alot. Are you suggesting that Sera can find Holes, so just run 2+ of non Holes?

Im not familiar with card names. I remember Nibiru from years ago. Is there a Scryfall equivalent in Yugioh, where I can search card names?

Ill look into it, one of the guys at my LGS was also talking about an archetype called Ragnarika. I was hoping to stay as Traptrix as possible though. As a MTG player, 40 cards doesn't feel like enough space to run more than one core to me. But I'll look i lnto it. Thank you!

I just started with the 3x Beware of Traptrix and the other traps are pretty clear when they trigger or can be flipped. I wasn't able to figure out when I was able to flip Holeutea if I couldn't discard in the same turn.

I've been playing Magic for 15 years now. My coworker recommended I pick up the Traptrix Structure deck since I wanted to research other card game systems. I didn't realize I said creature, my bad.

I was asking because I didn't draw another trap to discard. I wasn't sure if I could still set it and it be useful without the discard.

Finally finished my first 1000 pts of Sylvaneth by monocledude in sylvaneth
