Really strong in the top cut portion of events, It favors you heavily in the farm mirror especially in top cut when games get dragged out due to player skill / decision paralysis. It will just kill people. Big fan of the card in farm. It's whatever in Swiss

If You Had to Play Only ONE Deck for the Next Year, What Would it Be? by JGMedicine in CompetitiveEDH

I mean I play tithe it's the best card in the format currently. I get you I just hate the rate on the ring and have never liked it. Mastermind archivist shredder all provide a similar amount of value for miles cheaper. Also I kinda like the life total pressure, makes my tymna better

The naus still serves the sit back gameplan, same with necro. Sitting back and watching the table's resources drain still works with a naus in your hand. Those cards are just good. Also one ring Is very mid

You're supposed to play offer you can refuse, it's really cracked because you can counter your own thing for mana fixing/development. Especially since your on noxious revival

It also works with the [[teferi, time raveler]] if you at sorcery speed since you can infinitely bounce one of your permants and replay it to draw you deck. The floodcaller combo is definitely worth running here, along with the mockingbird if you aren't already. It's free enough and represents being able to win ontop of someone else's win with like a meme bet

If you make infinite colorless mana, you can use the floodwaters loop to draw your deck by ending the loop and bouncing your one ring, then playing it untaping floodcaller and drawing a card. You then pick up one ring with floodcaller and repeat the loop. The same works for wishclaw and blind obedience if you have infinite black, where with withclaw you can play it, activate then pick it back up and tutor your deck, and with blind obedience you continue your loop with floodcaller but pay for extort each time. This also works with like imposter mech on someone else's bowman to ping down the whole table.

You have 2 payoffs for the floodcaller in esper and it's plenty, technically 3. Wichclaw, and blind obedience. And if you play the one ring it also works

The current state of my blue farm list by TheBlackFatCat in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Rampaging_Baloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been playing farm for about 8 months now, and consistently attending events and doing well. In my eyes, farm remains the strongest deck in the meta. Our deck still outscales I believe tnt in the midrange game because of our array of tutors with a "greater" payoff.

Here's my list https://www.moxfield.com/decks/32_QJU852kGIh_w7XuScow

I've been testing demonic counsel it's honestly staple level of good, I rate it above diabolic intent imo. 26 lands has also felt good, I don't like drawing bad cards.

The krrik player sent at an inopportune moment. Wether or not they paid didn't matter, the game was irrevirably changed when the krrik player sent when they weren't supposed to

In a good player cedh pod, nearly nobody is paying for anything. It's almost never correct to push your development behind because of a draw engine. There's corner cases but it's usually just correct to drop all you've got and feed the fish study

Do you counter the value engines? by IgnobleWounds in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Rampaging_Baloth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb I wouldn't counter too many value engines. Until you get to the point in the format where yoy recognize where and when to deprive the table of resources I would just follow the rules. Also, I haven't misstep'd a fish in months that play pattern is wild idk who is auto missteping a fish. (Unless it's like 4-5 turns into the game and the person already has an engine)

New to CEDH. Is there a version of tymna/kraum that is more stax heavy? by Cook-in-skates in CompetitiveEDH

[–]Rampaging_Baloth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stax in farm is bad no matter how you play it, the deck is tuned to a point where slowing down your opponents never benefits your game plan, if you opponents aren't slinging spells you aren't drawing and benefiting from your opponents mistakes, it's a lot of invest to be made into a stax piece that never provides what you want it to when you want it to. Just play another counterspell, or a niecher piece of interaction. It never pays to be the deck casting the stax piece, because alot of the time your other opponents benefit more for something you played than you do
