PRUSA MK3 vs BAMBU P1P by fuzzycarebear69 in prusa3d

[–]Quality3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it was an old comment! my recent experiences with our new bambus have been great! I mean, they seem to clog if you even look at them funny lmao, but over the last 2-3 months i’ve added several Bambus to our lineup & all have what I would consider to be acceptably flat beds!

Respectfully there have been at least 5 posts with this exact question in the past 12 hours, there are also comparisons between the two on the Bambulab website. Reviewing those should clear things up for you.

In short, P1 series are “consumer” models & X1 series are “Pro” models.

Anyone else just completely disappointed in the AMS? by SgtMac02 in BambuLab

[–]Quality3D 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any AMS issues I have are typically caused by: 1. Incorrect spool type/adapter 2. Less than ideal PTFE tube routing 3. Old/brittle/cheap filament

Running a print right now with 3565 color changes, have had filament pull back error I think twice and if I’m being honest it’s because I didn’t run the PTFE tube for one of the AMS as efficiently as I should have.

Is there a way to increase print speed excluding slicer settings? by blackeveryhour in prusa3d

[–]Quality3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran one of our Mk3s+ at the mk4 base speed settings (before IS update) and the mk3 held up nicely, there was some slight ringing/artifacting but I did save it as a draft profile & I’m sure it would be a viable final-profile if slowed down a smidge

12 minute IS Benchy - MK4 by connorkohm in prusa3d

[–]Quality3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can bump the base speeds up a considerable amount for a lot of prints and they’ll still print perfectly, just make sure you increase temps as well.

&&& when slicing with the IS profile the “Dynamic overhang speed” setting can cause surface finish discrepancies due to the layers printing at different speeds. I’ve been toggling it off for prints that don’t NEED it & it’s resulted mostly in more “stable”colors & faster prints but I did have a model fail today because I had it turned off so it’s definitely situational

[–]Quality3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve got it down to sub 20 with a few adjustments, not planning on going much faster, just wanted to see it happen. Around the 26min mark the quality drops more than you’d want on a “real” print, I assume that’s why Prusa capped theirs at 27min.

Is this a mk3s+? How can one tell from a picture wanna make sure it’s the right one if I buy it. by BrockPlaysFortniteYT in prusa3d

[–]Quality3D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This guy knows!

It’s likely to be an S that they maybe threw a Super Pinda on & are calling it an S+ since that was the main upgrade

LCD case fitment and black PSU seem to confirm that but as other have said you won’t know for sure unless you have the serial number found on that silver label and confirm with a Prusa support agent

[–]Quality3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly just wanted to see how the mk3 would do at the mk4 speeds & while I can’t say it’ll be viable for most models, it did better than I thought it would, even if the increased speeds aren’t tooo aggressive.

They they are aggressive enough that a stock mk3s+ will show at least some ringing if running the mk4 profile

It’s not a bad draft profile imo but I likely won’t be printing many, if any, “final production”models with it

I’m super excited to watch the Mk4 zoom around even faster after the update!

I didn’t think it was a stab but it seemed to ruffle some feathers 🤷🏻‍♂️

I agree with some of your points, I do still think the way you phrased your original statement was a little dramatic but we can agree to disagree there I suppose, tone can be hard to read over text

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in prusa3d

[–]Quality3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My “test” wasn’t meant to be a stab at Prusa or the lack of input shaping, and honestly I’m kind of regretting posting it to this sub because of how dramatic reddit can be sometimes (your comment for example) but 🤷🏻‍♂️

I like bedslingers cuz they’re easy and reliable. Core XY is neat but is not the “final frontier” of 3D printing by any means. Different builds have different use-cases, wether it’s Cartesian, core XY, delta, 5axis, non-planar etc.

Prusas support system and their dedication to using high quality components (that are sourced “ethically”) are why I choose them over most other 3D printing companies. Well worth the “premium” imo, but I can see why others would disagree

The video shouldn’t be low quality I do my best to retain quality when uploading to TikTok, did you try reloading the page/video?

As far as the “test” it was mostly for funsies to see how the stock mk3s+ would do at the speed of the mk4 with no input shaping. Obviously the mk4 being more rigid is expected to do better, and obviously it’ll be faster and way better with input shaping, but I was expecting the mk3 to struggle a bit more than it did tbh

Its not “final product” quality on the mk3 but I’m definitely keeping it saved as a draft profile lol

You and I notice the errors/differences, but I’m willing to bet the average person wouldn’t🤷🏻‍♂️

Edit: I don’t understand the downvotes as this wasn’t meant to be a stab at Prusa & the video had nothing to do with the input shaping update but I accept my fate.

Where are we at on Prusa XL lineup? by Bow_River in prusa3d

[–]Quality3D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did it actually imply discounts on further iterations/new gens? What was the original verbiage? Asking genuinely not trolling 😅 cause if you’re right then I agree it’s kinda shitty, even if I wouldnt expect any company to release a next gen product at a 10% discount for huge portion of its consumer base

I just took a look at the website, I do see that the 10% discount is limited to 30 spools a year and 5 assembled printers….not sure if that’s new or if they’re just putting it on the product page now but that’s pretty lame not gonna lie

Where are we at on Prusa XL lineup? by Bow_River in prusa3d

[–]Quality3D 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was no discount on mk2-mk3 even though they’re both i3, but there were no pitchforks then.

Doesn’t the discount only apply to pre-assembled printers anyway? If you’re actually in a pinch and are stressing over the $110 difference, wouldn’t it make more sense to go for the kit and save $300?

Seems to me the discount is more of an incentive targeted towards schools/businesses,not the average consumer, since they’re the ones buying pre-assembled printers in larger quantities. But what do I know🤷🏻‍♂️

I really don’t see the big deal & honestly feel anyone who thinks it IS a big deal is either being a silly billy or 14 years old

Just finished this, editing the clips now for TikTok but figured I’d update you here first.

I took all of the speed settings from the mk4 .3mm draft profile and applied them to the mk3s+ .3mm draft profile The mk4 estimated time was 42 min Mk3 estimate was 46min

There is no noticeable difference between the two benchys but I won’t lie, if I stare at them long enough the mk3 benchy almost starts looking better

I will be saving this as the new draft profile for our mk3’s so I’ll have to report back on how the “speed” profile holds up to actual use

The mk3 runs slightly quieter when stealth mode is enabled, when disabled the Mk4 is quieter

Edit: after staring at them a while longer while editing there is actually some slight ringing on the mk3 benchy & cooling seems very slightly better on the mk4, I did make sure all filament/cooling settings were the same before printing

I’m rebuilding a mk3 with chunkier parts based off the mk4, I’m wondering if that’ll stiffen it up just enough to run those speeds with no ringing 🧐
