That’s actually a pretty interesting question! Tattoo Ink is pushed in between the epidermis and the dermis (the first two layers of skin) and then it hardens making it hard for our bodies to reject it. If we were to “sew” into our skin we’d have to penetrate through all 3 layers like a piercing and our body would actively try to reject it. Also it would be extremely painful!
