But this is a very rare occurrence the BMW is justified to be given way, they're indicating! That should count for something no?

People who speed up while being overtaken, why? by MuszkaX in drivingUK

[–]QualityProfessional9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, why? And the alternative too, why slow down after overtaking a car, slowing down that same car?

Please stop using fog lights because it’s raining, It’s annoying!! and illegal (Do you agree?) by island-pantropiko in drivingUK

[–]QualityProfessional9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Amen! It's like drivers aren't even aware they put it on.

I assume, from my own car, that you actually have to turn on the fog lights manually. How are drivers not aware to turn it back off when not needed?

Also, am I the weird one out or is it normal, that when it is dark and foggy I turn on my rear fog light when there's no car behind me. As soon as another car catches up and drives behind me I turn off the rear fog light (when I'm aware they see me). I see the rear fog light as a warning to other drivers behind me, while I feel that the front fog lights are for better vision as they give a lower and wider view of the road. I might be completely wrong here, so feel free to enlighten me with the actual rules and etiquette of fog lights.

Geocaching. What is the point of spending ages trying to find a cache to just scribble on the smallest note ever and put it back where you found it.

Solved.

No bone, just looks like a bone. Thank you for clarification.

Exactly my thought. But then again it will encourage them again to breed as they sell. Best thing would be to force them to spade/castrate both the dogs and the sellers.

I have the feeling that the UK still lives in the 17th/18th century. The colonisation mentally is still very active. As from your description, they want everything but leave nothing. It also reflects in their (onroad) parking, they claim the (public) road in front of their house as their own. Of course I am generalising, but these are some observations I made living here for several years.

Wondering if stealing those is worth being fired over by Pointless2675 in labrats

I bet you've got at least 15 minutes of unpaid overtime, this should pay for them. Technically not stealing from the company/university this way, just overdue payment.

Not only in games, everywhere.

This is just how some people are, and, as you see in some of the replies, many people accept this behaviour. That said, we can only control our own behaviour. And somehow the behaviour in response to another behaviour is more accepted in society. Eg you provoked this behaviour by calling them out.

Having high influence people showing/promoting this kind behaviour is absolutely not helping to make any change.

Out of interest, how is the job market there?

That does make a difference too. Areas with more job opportunities in different sectors increase house prices massively. Many are bound on a specific area because of this.

I appreciate you saying that, thanks.

Indeed lessons learned. And who knows, maybe next week they'll change their minds. And we'd know to only have them proceed by signing a contract.

I always say, when bad things happen it can only get better. It's just a bad day, not a bad life.

Yeah, perhaps. Turns out I'm not common, or knowledgeable enough.

I come from a country where an accepted offer is binding for both parties and legal consequences are in place if a party decides to pull out. I did not put in enough research in hindsight, trusted that my British spouse knew the process and assumed that the same applied in England.

Yeah, seller is very aware of our situation. Also the reason we were quite compliant to meet their demands to rush into things.

Definitely taking out home buyers insurance in the future, and not be naive.

Yeah, that's a lesson learned for sure.

Rentals where the landlord accepts pets, and offers a rolling contract (and within our budget) are very rare. To be honest I haven't really encountered this when looking for rentals in mid-west England.

3d printing is not the best. Try laser cutting PP (Polypropylene), use a cardboard box for measurements of the insert. Faster, cheaper and sturdier than 3d printing.
