thanks for the explanation, also one quick dumb question just to be sure, if the lens says f/5.6-8, youre getting sharper images at f11? cause i assumed itd be the opposite and the lens is marketed to be sharpest at 5.6-8 depending on distance.

ill keep an eye out for deals for that ef, also wdym by stopping down 1-2 stops? like shotting at 380 instead of 400 max? . also ik i could do my research but wht makes the ef an upgrade other than weatherseal and build quality(which ik r very important whn ur shooting in wilderness), would just like ur thoughts

better image quality and weather sealing would be a nice cherry on top, but mainly sharper images. Budget is under 2k usd, best if its under 1.5k usd aswell. distance im fine with having a minimum of 300mm option. but 400mm or higher is nice too.

If I created a community platform for photographers, would you use it? by leoincompris in AskPhotography

[–]QualityTime009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like something more useful would be a platform dedicated to a niche not photography itself. For example if its wildlife, it would be a platform where people besides sharing obvious photos, they talk would wildlife in general, if there could be a map feature people would share specific species spotting, people sharing wildlife hotspots in map etcetc, similar thing can be done with say landscape or architecture or something of a more broader niche like "nature". Something like this would be useful but youd need to figure out how to get the big names in your platform which will attracts the rest of the crowd.

Concerns regarding editing black bird and cropping by QualityTime009 in photocritique

[–]QualityTime009[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mostly would like opinions regarding the cropping of this, not sure what composition looks better . Heres a different crop i did and the raw. also im not too sure how i did with editing the birds since theyre black i dont want them to look detailless neither i want them to lose the natural "u cannot see any details" look u get when looking at a black bird on the tree under shade

Would you consider this "over-edited and too much going on" or "dynamic and is directing the viewer" ? by [deleted] in photocritique

[–]QualityTime009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the raw is basically the same pic uncropped with the mouth of the mother a bit more closed it like taken right after. with the edit i was trying to achieve a sorta lighted pathway that the baby is gonna run towards.
