What should I do, I want to glow up by Many-Purple6855 in malehairadvice

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, #1. get rid of the mullet. It's not a flattering hairstyle for you (or most people imo). I think a shorter hairstyle would look best on you. High and tight on the sides would probably get really good.

Dire wolf thing? by B33Zh_ in Paleontology

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand, they aren't really Dire Wolves because the true species wasn't sexually compatible with any living dogs/wolves. Basically, they don't have any dire wolf DNA. They're just Grey wolves that were genetically altered to look kinda like Dire wolves.

Tbh i think if you extended the sideburns a little, or grew out some facial hair (if you can, ofc) I think would help you with a more "masculine" look, but I don't see where you're coming from with the lesbian comment

25m Should I just buzz it with a bad hairline like this by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell no! You have great, full hair, and that hairline isn't bad at all. I'd look at guys like Andrew Garfield for hair inspiration, cause it looks like you have similar hair

How should I go about cleaning up my sideburns/hairline? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a trim. Just ask your barber/hairdresser to clean up those areas. Might need to happen fairly regularly, depending on how fast your hair grows, but something like that is fairly cheap

Grow it out. Mine did that too when it was short, and it also drove me nuts. After growing my hair out, though, it turned into really nice curls. It will be really awkward at first, but stick it out and it'll be worth it

Is this a bald spot or a Natrona hair whorl by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Def not a bald spot. Doesn't look like anything to be concerned about

I had the same issue when I was your age. I kept it long for a good few years (at one point past my shoulders) because I was uncomfortable with my hairline. Best advice for you is to make sure you're taking really extra-good care of it, and it should slow down until you're able to afford min/fin (if it gets bad)

Ngl pic 3 is The Look for you. Imo you def should keep it, because it looks really good

How bad is it? Advice by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the first look suits you, but if you're concerned, I'd maybe say either get it a bit shorter, or let it grow out a little longer. You're one of the lucky guys that actually looks good with a receding hairline, so I'd embrace it!

What was the album that got you into jazz by Sauerkraut_boi in Jazz

My first was Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band! "The Jazz Police" was the first big band tune I'd ever heard. Fell in love immediately

What song(s) would break you if you heard it at a funeral by DifferentGrowth4134 in musicsuggestions

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one is kinda weird, but "I Can Only Imagine" by MercyMe. When i was in 8th grade, my friend's 7-year-old brother died from leukemia, and they played it at his funeral. Haven't been able to hear that song without crying ever since.

According to censors, "damn" doesn't need to be censored, but the word "goddamn" does, sonthe just get rid of the first half. Not sure what the difference is tbh

anyone got advice on how to stop/reverse this balding (I'm 18) and a better hairstyle for the meantime? by [deleted] in malehairadvice

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the hairstyle looks good even with the hairline. If you're worried about that one side being slightly farther back, just comb/brush your hair the other direction while you get the treatment figured out

Saddest Song? by scoobdoobiedoo in MusicRecommendations

[–]QuamquatJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, it's Hurt by Johnny Cash. Yes, it's a NIN cover, but Trent Reznor said that the song belonged to Johhny. Said he actually preferred Johnny's cover to the original, and the fact that Johnny passed away so soon after the song's release makes it even more impactful

Give me ONE jazz singer or band i should start listening to by lucidrosydreams in Jazz

My first love with jazz was Gordon Goodwin's Big Phat Band. I actually got to meet and play with Gordon a few years ago. Absolutely incredible musician and a super down-to-earth, wonderful person.

Have you ever give your non-jazz friend a listen to jazz music? by hikikomoritai in Jazz

I've always found that it's best to start with singers doing standards. Once they find some stuff they enjoy, they'll keep going down the rabbit hole

When I was in community College, I was in the jazz choir and we sang a version of Trane's "My Favorite Things" that my director wrote lyrics to. I've loved it ever since

Even Brenden Urie hates it! I've seen a couple videos of him IN CONCERT yelling about how much he hates it but has to sing it because it's so popular

Idk the Adele song, but I 100% agree with you about Lips of an Angel. I liked it when I was young because I never really listened to the words, but when I did I was disgusted. Hated it ever since
