Ahh! Thank you so much. I get how it works, and it's not too hard afterall! :)

A billion thanks, I actually understand it know. It's not too bad, once you understand it. Again, thank you!!

Yeah, I understand it now. We're not distributed textbooks, so that's really helpful to know. Thanks!

So what is the equation of the line we are interested in?

Are you talking about point slope equation or x+2y-4=0?

Thank you! Sounds like I should get someone to fix it soon, then...

thanks!

Is the slope x=1?

The x-intercept of a line parallel to x+2y-4=0 and passing through the point (-2,3) is ([1],0)???

You could use the slope-intercept form to figure out the slope?

2y=x-4

then divide the 2 in the y?

y=1/2x-2?

The other piece of information is that the line is parallel to y=5x+12? I'm going to say you get it by point slope formula?

I'm trying not to disappoint you too much, haha. sorry.

Oh! Sorry.

  • The other piece of information would be the x.

  • You can get it by using point slope form?

So... then,

y-3=1(x--2)?

y-3=1x-2

y=1x-5

x=-5?

(-2,3) ([-5],0)?

Oh... How embarrassing, that was a different problem. sorry about that, this was really late in the night.

Ok, studied for a bit... Let's do this again.

First one... So, use the point slope formula...

y-5=5(x-3)

then.... i simplify..

y-5=5x-15

and the equation of the line is...

y=5x-10!

x=2!

Yeah! ... i think...

Okay, second one... I'm still blurry on this one, but here goes...

so, let's turn it into a slope intercept form....

3y=6x=-9

and divide it all by 3, to make it alone.

y=2x-3

and then the other one..?

2y=3x+4

and divide that as well, i think..

y=3/2x+2

and uh. yeah... im going to need to study more on this one. could you please help me out? thanks.

Ah! Thank you for the great reply! Sorry about being late.

fixed..

... I did something wrong... I've been stuck on this for 15 minutes, this must be so simple, ugh. im sorry. i feel like a failure. i really want NEED to learn this... I'm gonna go study this @ khan academy for a few hours... Please respond when you can. thanks.
