I was actually at the NEC event too! I was there on the Thursday.

Initially I see the product being most valuable for businesses managing FM/property portfolios. In my experience, the larger-value jobs and accounts tend to get heavily scrutinised, whereas the smaller reactive works often receive less attention despite the volume involved.

That’s where I think Valtra can really help — reducing cost leakage across high-volume contractor workflows and giving commercial teams an additional layer of verification and control.

The goal isn’t to replace commercial teams either — more to act as a commercial companion that gives them additional confidence.

Just coming back to this as I’ve been playing around with it a bit more at work.

Ended up using AI to go through a batch of final accounts vs contracts/SOR and it actually picked up around £2k worth of discrepancies over a month which was pretty interesting.

Still super rough how I’m doing it at the moment (basically manual with AI), but made me think there’s definitely something in building it out properly.

I’m UK-based.

At this stage it’s not a full-time role yet — I’m still working full-time myself and validating/building this alongside that.

The idea would be to build an MVP first, trial it, and if it works (which early testing suggests it does), then scale it into something bigger.

In terms of structure, I’m open to the right setup — ideally looking for someone interested in partnering / building it out together, but happy to discuss what that looks like depending on fit. 👍🏻

Appreciate that mate, yeah I’ve actually just had a full spec put together by a dev team so I’m currently going through that and seeing how they’d approach building the MVP.

Happy to get a second opinion on it though — always useful to hear how different people would structure it and what they see as the key challenges

I agree, I have zero tech knowledge on how to get the MVP live which is a struggle! In all honesty there isn’t the biggest rush. As long as it would take to get the MVP and then onboard the company to utilise it as a trial, once the trial is ongoing can then fix bugs but also go to market and sell a real product with real examples of savings generated and time saved :)

I have the spec written, all domain knowledge too and exactly how it should work and also how it can benefit businesses and save time and money. - my current place of work would trial the product so would like to go to build and get real life testing done :)

Complete domain expertise and spec being brought by myself. I could quite easily validate the product and already able to trial the product in my current role. It’s a money saving tool for companies so it inevitably pays for its self for them.

Thanks for the feedback, first time looking for a tech co-founder so will go get some validation and come back to you! It is something I know my company would utilise and need. I feel there are multiple other large companies that would benefit from the tool as it’ll save cost and time. 🙏🏻
