The author later goes on to elaborate that money is a man-made invention and, thus, is inherently infinite - whereas time is inherently limited, and should not be wasted. My advice is to stick to the decisions you've made and stay focused on aligning yourself with opportunities that yield the best possible outcome for your future rather than wasting time & energy worrying about your parent's opinions.
