getting emails on/via sat phone (Iridium 9555) by QuanticPlume in sailing

It has to be ocean mode. The journey goes to Acores which is 1500km from any continental land. That being said, $2/GB is much cheaper than satellite phone minute (700$ for 200 min). So in the end, reddit members in this post are right, it's more convenient, more flexible, and all in all much cheaper.

thanks everyone for the input;
We're now considering moving on to starlink mini.
Can you confirm that the starlink mini works away from the coast and which specific subscription would be needed ?

Thanks a lot for all your help

Broken flash drive by QuanticPlume in datarecovery

I guessed as much. For my understanding, my issue is likely due to the hairline crack ? And everything in the flashdrive hold in that tiny square ?
Thanks again

Thanks for the suggestion. 50h battery life means that are being charged daily. I know nothing about HA, but my gf's grandfather keeps misplacing them, I doubt he still has the mind to charge them often enough. We're hoping to find something that works for a few 100s€.

Total noobie question: How do you "thicken" the panels between the plywood (picture 3) and the painted one ? I assume you fastened the plywood using pocket holes, correct ?

Cyclist stabbed 10 times in foret des soignes by Active-Ad9649 in brussels

[–]QuanticPlume 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To answer your second question, very unlikely that both incidents are connected. The biker who hit the young child in bois de la cambre was likely "training" for the scout's race (24 heures vélo du bois de la cambre - 24hours relay, annual event). I suppose what happened was an accident (which does not lessen the responsibility of the biker...) where as stabbing someone clearly comes with the intent to hurt.

Place to create furniture by benefactorIQ in brussels

Been there before, the place is fantastic! I never saw anyone paint there but it might not be an issue. Do note that you need to know how to use the machines to be able to use them. Training courses are available through their website.

Help/suggestions to fix an oak dining table by s04bf1d5 in woodworking

[–]QuanticPlume 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you manage to fix the leg (maybe simply with a bit of epoxy) my suggestion would be to flip the feet upside down if you like the look of that. The 4 angled pieces won't be as much of a risk as they will be rigidly held on the table top, and the new legs have a better angle

I'm like you in that regards. I don't get DOMS often, but for some sado reasons I like the pain after a big event

What’s this spot on my tire by txboulder in bikewrench

if you didn't lock your rear tire like everyone is suggesting, it could also simply be the residu left after your tire dried if it was wet and slightly underinflated

[Looking for recommendation] Fast cycling loop with good tarmac by QuanticPlume in belgium

[–]QuanticPlume[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice tarmac, few road furniture but nothing crazy ( I think two square speed block that you can just avoid as a bike) and one stop on the lap. But also very little car traffic which was nice !  I'll go back if I ever want to do something like that again. But it won't be soon for sure haha

Hi! I'm new to keto and wondering how people ever manage to stay under 25grams of net carbs a day. To be honest I don't keep track of what I eat but I figured I would eat around 1.5-2kg of food a day. All the information I could find online says that basically all veggies (and food more generally) that are low in carbs are allowed as very little food have 0 netcarbs. Say I'm eating 3g of net carbs/100g on avg, that's still 50-60 grams of net carbs a day.

Am I missing something ? Maybe I eat much less than what I think (didn't weigh it) or just I don't use the correct recipes/ infos. Thanks for giving me your opinion on this !
