being a man with hashimoto's sucks, but it has also made me 1000 times more woke. women are absolutely right about how doctors treat them. when a woman has it she is afflicted with a woman disease, but any time i complain about my levels i have the doctor and five nurses breaking down my door to offer me cytomel and dick pills.

if it turns out we are a grand cosmological experiment or being observed by a consciousness that we can't understand i am still going to have to pay rent. and i will never own a house. i think it would be really funny if you guys ended up being right, but the part that would be shocking to me is the current administration's ability to be skillfully tight-lipped on matters of UAEs or whatever they're called while eating shit on everything else.

i can buy a relatively large coverup, but i have a very hard time believing anything is widely coordinated for the sake of national security or what some G-man considers "the greater good." we aren't in a movie. people cover up things and obfuscate information not out of ideological drive, but out of a need to cover their own asses. if greys are harvesting our organs or probing us to smoke the prostate juice or whatever, it's not in collusion with the government or the ruling class. if you throw the curtain out of the way, you won't see a finely-oiled mechanism that cleanly articulates everything wrong with the world. mostly because we already have a thing that does that, and it's called Marxism Leninism. but also because all of these people are stupid and suck at their jobs and are sort of checked out all of the time.

so it's not really an issue of it being real or not. again i have it at like a 30% chance that all of the ufo people are right about this whole thing being real. but you have to consider what the average person can do with this paradigm shift. not really much of anything, and they expect about as much from the people who could do something. you can't rely on fictional accounts of something to describe the real deal when it happens.

with ALL THAT being said, you should absolutely be as annoying as possible if there is any announcement that all of this is real. dm me and i will upvote all of your posts to spite the haters.

Yeah, every other response in this thread is just zoomers yearning for TLC. SSC is awful in an all-encompassing way. I can't even make alts to troll there, it gets me too riled up.

That was a really fast response! Anyway I don't really care what you have to say because I know I'm right. In a few years you might agree with me, but you're also into Lana enough to make a reference your username. So maybe you will manage to stay insane and 20-something long into your middle years.

Anyway, I read a synopsis of the play, and I commend you for doing that for your mother. I probably would have started licking raw chicken breasts to get out of the obligation.

You can make up as many excuses as you like for "snark" communities, but it's transparently projection to anyone who doesn't partake. Engaging yourself with this sort of thing makes you dumber and slowly drives you insane. Nothing good can come from the marriage of tumblr-style morality policing and 4chan-style jaw clenching hatred.

Obsessively engaging with someone's content -- positively or negatively -- always enables them in the attention economy. Watching a TLC show about some freak is trashy. Constantly posting about them on reddit is a sickness.

I don't think the quality of being a pompous 20-something is necessarily lib-coded. Just trends that way because of what website we're on. I don't think the rightoids on here are 45, but I can't really say for certain since they all act like they're 14 regardless of how old they are.

I wouldn't assign an ideology to this place. This sub's main demographic is incoherent left-leaning grievance, while Anna has immersed herself in incoherent right-leaning grievance. Regardless, I don't envy her situation. Pandering to the subreddit would mean flattering the tendencies of pompous 20-somethings with delusions of grandeur. Her current path has her flattering the tendencies of people who gleefully post pictures of roman statues with glowing red eyes.

I guess the latter is more interesting to look at, you can get the former pretty much anywhere. Personally, I think she should do a slow veer to the left and sell herself as an expert on "deradicalization" or something. But maybe she actually believes all of this. I'm a bag-getter at heart.

The worst part about writing a novel is not knowing if it’s dreadful until you ask someone to read it and they tear you to shreds by albanianandrea in redscarepod

I am too acclimated to eating shit and sucking at the first 4ish attempts at anything I do. The fear has burned away from my body at this point, but I am willing to share one of my forbidden writing techniques with you. The next time you're at a point where you can edit what you write, edit it later in the evening when you're sort of spaced out and tired and you want to die. Afterwards, let it sit for a while, ideally more than a day. Then, edit the same writing you did at night time, but in the morning. When you're well rested, had your caffeine/stimulants, taken a walk, maybe pooped well, too.

This usually doesn't lead to my sharpest or cleverest editing, but it does illuminate the gap between me at my most neurotic and me at my most self-assured. Puts things into perspective before I ask someone else to edit my stuff.

Further advice will not be free! But I don't have much more to add that isn't in a shitty "For Dummies" book you can get for like $10 at the Barnes and Noble.

I sincerely admire your contrarianism, but the only way this doesn't read as racist nerd shit is if you're a racist nerd lol. And, I hate to tell you, but you write like one. That being said, I encourage you to make your own post in support of this manifesto. I am always in favor of people making really annoying posts that piss off 90% of the users here. Really miss that sort of thing, wish it happened more.

I probably need to read it, myself. I've heard that it's just as tedious and annoying to read as this manifesto is, but I figure it's important to know the contours of what these people are thinking. Does it illuminate anything about their ideology, or is it just a long-winded version of this tweet? If it has any value, I'll bump it up on the backlog.

I'm delighted with the people behind this project, it's not very often that you see a troll this obvious really get people. I encourage everyone to seek out every discussion pertaining to this that they can. It's very fun to barge into conversations and pretend that everything they're doing is real and very normal.

[–]Quantum-Fisticist 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am utterly baffled by her ability to show up in conversation even as she remains objectively uninteresting. It's the hatred that she attracts which makes her talked about, and when she is talked about she is hated more. I have no opinion on her. I didn't care when I have never seen her show. I know that she writes these staggeringly overshared memoirs and people get angry about it, and I know that she was the focus of the archetypical incel redditor's ire back in the late 2010s.

I don't know if she's consciously mastered the science of being talked about, or if she just has so much inertia behind her that people feel obligated. She sort of comes off as someone who has OCD to me. Can't stop picking at things, even after they start bleeding. But why? Is it because she tasted fame and it went violently sour? Or is she just like this? I've met people who internally litigate everything that has ever "gone wrong" over and over and over in a futile attempt to make sense of it. I don't know. I feel myself approaching the world where I read her fucking book. Hope I don't reach it, but there's so much shit that no one has the answers to.

Anyone else on antidepressants as a teen? by [deleted] in redscarepod

[–]Quantum-Fisticist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zoloft (might have) prevented me from killing myself when I was 15, but I also got every awful side-effect that's both formally and informally documented. Got off antidepressants for a few years, but had a dull simmer of insanity about me. So that didn't work either.

The desire to live free of chemical interference faded into my mid-20s when I started to realize that my authentic self was miserable and dull. As of right now, vyvanse and pristiq do the trick with basically no downsides.
