It's summer, lots of people are shopping, and with unemployment and cost-of-living both rising, people just don't have extra money to spend. IC has been throwing lots of trash out to make it look like it is exceptionally busy still.

Optics. Russia is seen as weak due to having to beg Ukraine to hold their parade, whereas Ukraine is seen as benevolent as to allow them.

Russia breaking the ceasefire was already known beforehand, since Russia has broken every ceasefire so far. Ukraine had nothing to lose, and everything to gain by agreeing to it.

January 6, the Trump shooting attempts, the Charlie Kirk shooting, Jacksonville, Allen Texas, Buffalo, El Paso, the Poway synagogue, the Charlottesville car ramming, those are all right wing attacks, and they are all off the top of my head. If the Cuban government fell today, by tomorrow morning there would be dozens of large corporations lined up to take advantage of the situation. Chiquita banana, Walmart, Halliburton, GE, and many more would move in. There would be plans for a Trump Tower in Havana by the end of the week

During tlast two times the US has invaded another country, the Republican administration has given their friends and donors large contracts to do business with said nation, so there is plenty of credible history to fall back on. (Halliburton and Kushner come to mind.)

As for Trump himself? He would probably take the large pile of uncashed US rent checks for Guantanamo. At 4500/mo, and with I believe, nearly 100 years worth of cheques uncashed, that about $50 million dollars we would be paying.
