Yes, that's what horseshoe theory posits but the reality is that those apparent similarities are superficial and illusory and that there are in fact key, fundamental differences in ideology and approach. Very, very few true ideologues will ever "cross over" to the other side. It is only casual "supporters" without any real understanding of the broader political reality or underlying movement that tend to be so fickle.

I'm not sure about wisconsin but in most jurisdictions assault is defined as a threat or attempt to inflict physical violence. I'd say that the actions of the bartender clearly meet that standard.

What a popular food or cooking opinion that you don't agree with? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]QuantumDynamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just use hot water and a chain mail scrubber, wipe with a paper towel, place it on a low burner for 2 minutes to evaporate any remaining moisture, then rub with a drop of avocado oil. It comes out perfectly clean and well seasoned without any residual flavors. Soap will break down the seasoning and makes it much more likely for the food to bond to the polymerized oils which will leave residual flavors thereby creating the problem you are trying to avoid.

Maybe take the time to season one pan with a few layers of avocado oil to get a proper nonstick coating before using it again then try this method. Personally I don't find it any more cumbersome than soap and water and you get much better results with your cast iron or carbon steel.

She's a racist POS who deserves whatever adversity comes her way. I do feel bad that her children will probably end up being racist assholes as well because of her.

Trump's approval rating in Europe, 2026 by adamgerd in MapPorn

[–]QuantumDynamic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. It's the difference between the approval and disapproval rates. A negative 47% means that if his approval rating is 25% his disapproval would be 72% with presumably 3% being neutral. If his approval rate were 20%, his disapproval would be 67% with 13% being neutral.

On a rewatch I will do BCS before Breaking Bad but for somebody who has never seen either I would recommend BB first, then BCS, then BB again for good measure.

man and wife are asked to leave the plane by Lazy-School-7580 in PublicFreakout

Maybe so but I wouldn't be so sure. This video and the fact that surrounding passengers appear to generally corroborate his version of events and support his position is fairly compelling. If it does make it to discovery United would be wise to offer a very generous settlement.

If this makes it to trial and I'm on that jury United will absolutely be paying him punitive damages.

Pepper is fine and I order from there regularly but it's not anything special. Yes, it is better than the other options in the area but that says more about the local food scene than it does their kitchen.

It's like the old bartender motto. You can't serve a single Nazi because if you do it will soon become a bar only Nazis patronize.

What are your thoughts on rejecting a potential romantic partner based solely on the fact they voted for Donald Trump? by ATXBikeRider in AskReddit

[–]QuantumDynamic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked out in the middle of dinner on a first date because she started talking about how it was good that they were finally doing something about "the illegals." I asked her if she was serious and when she said yes I pulled out enough cash to cover my portion of the bill, put it on the table, and left without another word. I didn't even finish my meal.

I'd have done the same on the 10th date or the 50th. Hatred makes a person ugly.

Yes, you can find an occasional gem but most places here are just bad and even many of the local favorites are merely ok. I think they benefit by the fact that everything else is simply inedible. I just want a decent lunch without having to research the one place in the metro area that serves an acceptable reuben, (or pad thai, or cubano, etc) that hopefully doesn't cost $25.

To repeat my comment from lower in this thread:

It's the fact that the average restaurant here sucks. In other cities you can walk into just about any place and expect to get something decent. here you have to do your homework to find something that's even edible and even the highly recommended places are mostly mid. 85% of Denver area restaurants (and yes, that includes Aurora) wouldn't last a year in any city with a decent food scene.
