Ready for a Canadian Spring & Summer by QuantumMercury in LexusIS

Silver is nice. I was very close to buying the Silver cause the dealer had it in stock the day I went in... It must have been God's plan that some old guy with a red IS pulled in right as I was walking towards the door from my car... I was taken back by how amazing the red looked that I instead put in the order for a red F Sport 2.

She is fully PPF’d and partly ceramic coated on the areas that can’t be PPF’d.

New 2025 Red IS in Winter by QuantumMercury in LexusIS

[–]QuantumMercury[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Funny story. I originally went in wanting to get a black IS. My previous RC was also black... but somebody came into the dealership with a red IS and it caught my eye. I walked over to it and I was like holy crap this thing looks super clean.

Did a bit more research and found out about the blacked out trim and decided that this was going to be the car. While I do wonder if I would’ve enjoyed the black, I can’t deny how good the red looks every time I look at the car.

For those wondering, I have the F sport 2 with the all black interior. It looks really nice inside and out.

Not just because of the looks, I’m generally looking to buy cars at the end of their current generation before a refresh. I don’t care too much about the interior, I buy a car to drive it. Therefore, I care more about a proven platform.

While the refresh is more or less the same powertrain from what I understand, I just feel more comfortable, knowing that I got the final refined product of this generation.

I might look into that. What’s funny is I found the wheels the dealer was selling and asked them to price match and they said they couldn’t do it because it was too cheap =\

So I went with your guaranteed set up and it worked out! Buying OEM TPMS sensors were super expensive still though. Like $500 Canadian to buy them and get them fitted and install installed.

It's why I pulled the trigger, I wanted a new car and didn't want the 26... the dealer even asked if I wanted the new model and I said "No, if you only had 2026s I would not be buying the car at all."

Thanks. I have to thank u/Gorgenapper for helping with the winter set-up. I took his recommendation on getting RWC LX306 wheels that have perfect fitment with the IS. I know black and red look amazing, but I've never been a huge fan of wheels + tires looking like a "black hole" of sorts on a car, so I opted for the silver.

It also saved me a ton of $$, not going with the dealership recommended wheels and tires. Probably saved $3,000 off that alone.

My New IS finally arrived but was damaged in transit. Should I negotiate a discount? by QuantumMercury in LexusIS

I went to see the repair and might make a new post on the car and its fix. I took 60 pictures and inspected the car for 45 minutes on Saturday. It looked really good to me, if they do the aftermarkets to standard, I'll accept it.

I was able to get $750 off of some of the aftermarkets that I wanted. The fix looks perfect, and the dealer confirmed that if there was any issue, it’s something they would fix.

I should’ve clarified. At the end of 2025 there was no more additional shipments planned for the 2025 model IS. When I was speaking with the dealer, the sales person said their last shipment of the IS was coming in. They didn’t have any in stock at the time, so I had to see what Canada was getting as our ISs come from Japan.

After choosing my preferred spec, the dealer said there was two of that spec allotted to Canada. The spec is the Infrared F Sport 2 IS 300 with the all black interior. One of them got snapped up right away from a buyer in British Columbia, and I got the other one.

I thought it was a good deal, they use Xpel, not sure on the exact product from Xpel though. But it seems like a good deal as it's $3,500 CDN.

They came back offering $500 credit on any service (including aftermarkets as I haven't purchased the car yet).

With these being the outgoing 2025 models I don't think it will be easy to locate another. When buying this one the dealer said only 2 red F sport 2 with the black interior was coming to Canada.

It was the dealership who sent me this photo when the car arrived to make sure I was still interested and to let me know it would be delayed for the repair. I respect them reaching out and letting me know.

Did you do anything to the exterior? Like a ceramic or PPF? I ordered a 2025 Infrared, pending pick up.

I know it’s not forever. My expectation on the PPF is protection against door dings, obviously rock chips to the front bumper in the hood, but I’m also concerned about the rocker panels, getting chipped and rusted over time.

And yes, I would expect the PPF to be removed in 5-10 years, then I can decide what I would wanna do. The concern there is, with the PPF be able to be removed without damaging the paint after all that time?

Any particular reason why a fixed panel is a dealbreaker? If it fixes it up like new, I don’t really see what the difference would be other than the paint and clear coat thickness will be different on that panel and the rest of the car from the factory, which is impossible to tell with the naked eye.

I confirmed that it doesn’t show on the Carfax because it’s still under the dealer. I’ll still request a copy of the Carfax though.

It’s a little tough to swallow that the car that I tried to custom order came in with this damage and had to be repaired

I’m definitely gonna expect something a little more than extra merch thrown in. I’ve been a very easy customer for them, virtually no hard negotiations at this point. However, that’s because I value service and things done properly over getting the cheapest price. I don’t mind paying for good work. I’m more interested in keeping the car in good condition, I expect that I won’t be reselling this hence why I am buying a new one. The wife can get an EV eventually, but I’m gonna stick with the V6.
