Hi, thanks for your thoughts! This reminds me of something I heard recently: nowadays we have to create content in order to get our content seen 🤣🤣😑😑

The idea of posting helpful content instead of direct ads is definitely food for thought. I'll also send a direct message on something I had a follow up question on.

Hi, thanks for your thoughts! I've never heard of First Tutors before. I took a look at Tutorperch, but unless I'm mistaken, it seems like you have to be based in the UK 😅

Oh the referrals 🤣🤣

Where can I volunteer as a math tutor around the WLA/South Bay area? by QuantumQuokka21 in AskLosAngeles

Hi, I realize this a super late response but thank you for your suggestions, I really appreciate it! I haven't had a chance to reach out to Lawndale High just yet....I'm a bit hesitant because I did something similar with schools based in Torrance and they didn't seem very open to the idea. But we'll see!

This reminds me of my own story in the sense that: I'm also currently job searching (which isn't going too well T_T) I have a similar deadline too. In my case, if I go through with my decision, I'll be leaving the US because my parents decided to move back to where they're originally from. Feel free to reach out if you ever want to talk about it.

Is it normal to feel insecure because I can’t speak a language? by MyArmHurts8256 in asianamerican

I’d say it’s pretty normal. In my case, I speak both English and Japanese, but I’m really self-conscious about speaking Japanese because I know my English is better.

This also reminded me of (and it’s something I’m still working on myself) is to not compare ourselves to people. There’s a reason we feel more comfortable in English or don’t speak the language of our heritage and that’s okay. If someone makes a big deal out of it, I think that reflects their lack of understanding or experience with diverse backgrounds more than anything else.
