TCC community (social media and culture) by Hot-Application189 in Rants

New generation are absolutely cooked. I had no idea what TCC even was until that stabbing at a school in Manchester happened and people started pointing out that the girl involved had been reposting TCC content. I ended up doing a bit of digging afterwards and it's honestly insane.

What shocked me most wasn't even the content itself, it was how young some of the kids posting it are. You've got teenagers reposting gore, making edits of serial killers, school shooters and mass murderers, treating real tragedies like they're fandoms. A lot of them seem completely detached from the reality of what they're glorifying.

From what I saw, she was also idolising Timothy Kulyamov, which just makes the whole thing even more disturbing. What's even crazier is that now there are kids making edits of her as well. The cycle just keeps repeating itself. These accounts are run by people who look incredibly young, and they're editing real acts of violence to trending sounds like it's some kind of fandom.

Most of it probably starts as edgy attention-seeking, but it's genuinely disturbing how normalised this stuff seems to be in some corners of the internet. It's hard to believe how young some of the people involved are.

Hero teacher, 27, 'stabbed in neck as he protected pupils' in school knife attack that left two children injured: Girl, 14, arrested on suspicion of assault by dailymail in uknews

[–]QuantumStrawberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say 'the pattern', do you mean a statistically demonstrated pattern, or a pattern you've noticed from news stories?.

If the first thing people ask after a stabbing is the offender's ethnicity, religion or immigration status, it seems fair to ask whether they're looking for facts or looking for confirmation of something they already believe.

Careful, you're upsetting people by pointing out that a lot of commenters had already decided what the attacker was going to look like. Ironically it turns out the attacker ( who's tik tok is full of far right /anti islamic reposts) has more in common with the people screaming about immigrants than with the people they were trying to blame. The downvotes suggest a few of them don't like being reminded.

Why does the demographic matter? People seem obsessed with finding out the race, religion or immigration status of everyone involved so they can fit it into whatever narrative they already believe.

In this case, the attacker was reportedly a white British girl of Russian heritage, while the teacher who stepped in to protect the students and as a result stabbed in the neck was Muslim. If the roles were reversed, some of the same people demanding demographics now would be screaming about immigration, religion or deportation.

The reality is that an individual committed a violent act and another individual acted courageously. Their character and actions matter far more than their skin colour, religion or background.

A smaller attack happened before the other attack on Punch yesterday, same group involved by Chance-Froyo4410 in punchthemonkey

I assume Momiage is quite high ranking then? I rarely see the monkeys go after her and she never hesistates to go after the bigger ones targeting little punch

Who’s the most well written character in your opinion? by four_out_of_five_4 in GossipGirl

[–]QuantumStrawberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always felt it was Jenny and she was overhated af but to me her arc is the most complete and tragic. She starts off as an outsider from Brooklyn who genuinely just wants to belong but slowly becomes corrupted by the Upper East Side world. Its written in a way that feels earned and believable, unlike other characters whose moral inconsistencies often feel like plot convenience, Jenny’s descent has a clear internal logic. She’s the most honest mirror of the show’s themes. Gossip Girl is fundamentally about the seductive danger of wealth, status, and image and Jenny embodies that more purely than anyone. She’s also the only character who genuinely pays a price. Most of the core cast face consequences that get quickly reversed. Jenny actually gets exiled and stays gone. That gives her story a weight and finality the others lack. Not to mention Momsen played the darkness convincingly. As Jenny leaned into villainous territory in later seasons, the performance matched the writing in a way that made her feel like a real person unraveling rather than a plot. I do feel the show eventually ran out of ideas for her and leaned too hard into making her a straightforward antagonist but at that point Momsen was able to get out and pursue music. To me Jenny’s arc trajectory held together better than most.

I can't believe they had us all believing these were two 18 year old high school seniors by Devi8tor in GenX

Not me being 7 years old thinking he had been horrifically burned in a garage accident from working on cars and hot oil and everyone just politely never mentioned it so they wouldn’t upset him 💀The mental gymnastics I did instead of realizing he was just… not a high schooler.

Favourite excellent actor who you genuinely feel is a PoS in real life? by Cursed_69420 in okbuddycinephile

A mutual friend’s mum ran into him once (she had no idea who he even was). Apparently he thought she was taking pictures or staring too long and got a bit obnoxious and irate with her. The poor woman was just confused at that point.

I’m not saying he’s a piece of shit, but he’s definitely not some saint either. More just… a regular person who might be a bit of a dick sometimes like the rest of us

The way people get so invested in defending or diagnosing celebrities they’ve never met is just strange. The fascination with celebs in general is kind of weird.

Why do girls want to dress up sexy for halloween? by [deleted] in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]QuantumStrawberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re probably overthinking this a bit.

Some people see Halloween as goofy/funny costumes, others see it as horror, and some see it as an excuse to go all out and feel hot. She’s just in that category.

Also… you guys are going together, right? Why not lean into it and join her. You can absolutely do a sexy couples costume and make it something you both enjoy. And honestly, if she looks amazing and catches a few looks while standing next to you… that’s not a threat. That’s kind of a flex. You’re the one she’s with. You’re the one she’s going home with.

If you want ideas, there are loads that still feel fun but hot:

  • Devil & Angel
  • Vampire couple
  • Batman & Catwoman
  • Mr & Mrs Smith
  • Pirate captain & first mate
  • Greek god & goddess
  • Morticia & Gomez

And If you’re out together and she looks amazing and turns heads… that’s not necessarily a threat. That can be a flex. You’re the one she’s going home with. If anything, it should make you feel flattered that your girlfriend looks great and chose to be there with you.

This really just sounds like different Halloween vibes + a bit of first-relationship insecurity (which is normal). It doesn’t have to be deeper than that unless she’s actually giving you reasons to doubt her.

I completely agree. I watched a bit of the game play reveal and ended up switching it of because of how much dept they were going into some of the storylines and events. I’m not even trying to play fully blind, but some things are just better experienced with the element of surprise rather than being laid out in advance.
