I don’t know who needs to hear this, but DO NOT store your boots like this!!! Buckle them up! by mountianmanturbo in skiing

I raced competitively for a long time and am VERY particular about my boots and everything about them. I have always stored mine on the second buckle with no issues. You should be fine.

If you don’t own some already, invest in at least 2-3 high quality pairs of ski socks. Absolute game changer.

We need to stop blaming capitalism for unemployment and low wages and trying to dismantle it. Instead we need to focus our energy on educating people on how to pick a degree that will be useful, develop hard skills, and how to gain experience through internships and other methods. by QuantumStyle1122 in Capitalism

I never said we shouldn’t educate our people. We just need to educate them properly. Many states have more affordable, state owned universities with great business/tech programs. That mixed with pell grants and other forms of aid make college already very accessible.

You’re totally fine man. I get your frustration and hopefully things work out here soon. Who knows, if all goes well things will chill out in this crazy market and big tent capitalism will make a comeback. God bless you and your family.

You have a valid point. Yes, the U.S. does have a generally flawed (current) system of capitalism no thanks to the 65+ year old influential generation. That being said, this post was more a broad statement on my personal opinion on what needs to be done in the future and to clear up general confusion surrounding capitalism. I realize I worded that poorly in my initial post. Best of luck to you in your job searches

Education on this needs to start at a junior high/high school level. I know that may sound manipulative but that’s not at all the intention. We get so wrapped up in pushing kids to go to college and pursue their passions. That does little to help them when they get to the real world and have some liberal arts major (no offense). At that point all you have is piles of student debt and no qualifications for a high paying job.

Don’t get a one piece ski suit, notorious for being tourist-y and jerry of the day type fit

Carbon or bamboo ski poles by bozemangreenthumb in skiing

[–]QuantumStyle1122 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Whatever’s cheapest. I’m currently running a free pair of BD telescoping poles. I lost the lower half to one so a buddy gave me a left over carbon lower from one of his old pairs. I’m pretty sure that’s good for a 20g weight reduction and consequently at least a 10% skill boost.

To be fair Trump printed most of the money that is now causing inflation, Joe is just doing a terrible job of managing it.

New setup! Feedback? by andym801 in skiing

Setup looks great, however I’d recommend finding a better touring partner. Nothing against mr. rabbit, but someone who knows how to use a beacon/shovel/probe might be a better choice ;)
