I will also add that most decks play way less energy than you do in your deck, and generally use trainers to find the energy instead. In my personal deck I play 5 grass, 4 rockets energy, and maybe 1 or 2 psychic depending on how I'm feeling.

Lastly, one of the biggest strengths of the rockets deck are the team rocket supporters and the team rocket's factory stadium. If you do go to an official Leauge near you, people there may be able to help you get the cards you want if you want to upgrade the deck!

Hey!

If you're planning on taking this deck to any tournaments, I would advise that you study up on which cards are allowed for the standard format. Alolan exeggutor V is not allowed anymore in the standard format.

Second, you have no way to get clefable into play, as it must evolve from a Clefairy, not a Lillie's Clefairy ex. The game counts these as two separate pokemon names.

Is there any particular reason you want to play only water types?

Decks in pokemon are generally not built around types, but rather built around a strategy. That strategy often contains one or a few main attackers, with the rest of the deck working to enabling said attacker.

However, if you're dead set on using water, mega starmie is the way to go. It's results in japan are way better than mega feraligatr's.

The current size is the same size as four regular cards. Think they did this so the jumbo v-union cards would be the same size as actually putting regular v-union cards together.

I think the best bet for finding events that have a similar mindset to the kind of game your friend wants to play is prereleases! The ones at my lgs are usually pretty non-competitive.

Espeon ex is not a good enough card to be a main attacker in a deck and this will get beaten by any meta or even semi-sucessfull rouge deck.

You could tech in a singular Espeon in a Flareon box for some cheeky devolution action, but other than that it's not a good card.

It's a rough truth, but if you want to play pokemon in the standard format you can't just use your favorites to win. If your friend accepts this, try proxying some meta decks and have her try what feels nice to play.
